I was informed there was new Managment at Alisha’s kitchen. I decided I could go for some oxtails. Entering the store I was greeted by Sam pretty soon he introduced me to AJ.
Good people very friendly. Though I ordered my food to go it didn’t take long.
I tried the soul food side of the menu, and placed my order for oxtails with two sides of collard greens and Mac and cheese. It paired nicely two corned muffins.
The oxtails were good served in brown gravy over white rice. It was delicious everything was seasoned very well.
The Mac and cheese! I could eat the Mac by itself.
The greens were seasoned and cooked just right not mushy but not hard either.
I will return with family and friends to get their honest opinion.

Their soul food menu is AMAZING! The amount of food you get for a $16 plate is insane in this inflated economy. Hubby and I had the smoked chicken plate, 2 sides each, and corn bread/toast. Wasn’t on the menu but they’ve also got fried pickles that were bomb!!! So much food, we had a full to-go plate to take home.

I mean… look at this plate Eric, the owner, is so incredibly nice! The food they make is delicious. I haven’t had catfish cooked this well since I was a kid. Collards? Perfect. Mac n cheese? Perfect. Cornbread? Perfect. Even the sweet tea was killer. We’re in from out of town, and we will absolutely be back. They cater as well! We’ll definitely be using that service soon.

This was my first time, but definitely NOT my last time trying this spot. The food is exceptional, the service is great and the atmosphere is very inviting. I look forward to trying many other things on the menu. It is so refreshing seeing people cook with so much respect for the ingredients and honor for the culture. Traveling into Cartersville for work and decided to give this place a try after seeing reviews. I ordered the drunken noodles. It is enough for 2 people. Service was great, very attentive, walked the food out to where I was sitting and waiting for my to go order to even holding the door open for me as I left. The food was quick and fresh. It was also soooo good and soooo flavorful. I personally felt a 1 was too spicy for me so I would order something else if I was to be back in town or ask them if there is a 0 on the spicy level. The soul food in the reviews look so good. Hoping work brings me back to this area to try them again next time.

It was okay. Maybe because I caught them end of day. They were so nice great service though! The Banana pudding was very disappointing because it was like six dollars and it was literally just pudding and cookies although it did taste good but definitely not what I was expecting overall decent place especially being in Cartersville.

We went on a Sunday, so they were serving a limited soulfood menu.
They had me at catfish! The catfish and fried okra were perfectly seasoned. The cornbread was moist. The sweet tea hit the spot!
The owner and staff were friendly.

I hate to say it but this place really let us down today. We stopped by and placed an order for take out. It took over an hour. Many Door Dash drivers came and went. Eventually, we did get our food. The rice was old (clumps of hard pieces), and the Pad Thai did not resemble any for of authenticity. We really liked this place with the original owners but, unfortunately, I have had a few less than stellar experiences since—This one may have been the last.

The staff was very friendly. The food had a unique and special flavor, and if you prefer a lighter and healthier taste, it goes better with plain white rice instead of fried rice. Next time I visit, I’m definitely going to try the pho.

EXCELLENT BBQ Ribs! The Cole slaw is homemade and so delicious. We also had a Thai Appetizer Sampler and it was so good too. The owner stopped by the table and was so nice and shared the story of opening this great restaurant. Top notch people here and the food is 10/10!
