Great food. Wonderful Friday night fish fry. Very friendly and efficient man at the host desk. True vintage atmosphere. Servers all run around and are all very unorganized. Our server only had one pen on her. I’m sorry but that’s part of the uniform that is extremely unprofessional no matter how old you are. They are all older experienced servers so there was no exception for this. She hovered over our table waiting for us to sign and return her Pen. They do not do separate checks.. The bus boy was absolutely amazing. Everything was fabulous but the servers need to step it up.

The worst fish fry I’ve ever had. We tried to place an order over the phone and the lady didn’t even place it and was rude. We called back again and they got it placed but when we got the food every container only had tiny pieces of fish that were broke up. We didn’t even get half of what we paid for.

I have never been to an authentic Wisconsin fish fry until now. Friends of mine brought me here to experience not only my first, but the best. I ordered the Combination Plate of fried shrimp, scallops, perch, and cod. All was delicious. Their homemade Italian dressing is even great beyond salads for some GOOD bread dippin’. The interior is beautiful with a classic “supper club” appearance. Even better than the food and atmosphere is the wonderful staff that makes it worth coming to. There is such pride in their service and work over all. Customers are treated as home guests. Nothing beats that. Wonderful place.

Visiting family in Milwaukee and they recommended coming here for the fish fry. Fish was delicious. Pieces were smaller than I expected but they were really good. They give you a bread basket as well which they refill when empty. Only hiccup was the service seemed a little slow considering they were very busy but the waiter was very polite and courteous. Overall I enjoyed the food and service

Food was average but a decent value for cost. Service was average, but things like checking on drink refills were a bit slow. Atmosphere was like an open hall, nothing special and very old, but obviously in line with what the business target audience is.

Fabulous Supperclub atmosphere. Food is amazing. I had Salmon with dill sauce on angelhair. Superb. Hubby had a great New York steak. Drinks are classic. Staff is most professional. Very comfortable seating. Bathrooms are immaculate and beautiful. They do have several banquet halls during constant use but you can’t hear them. Plenty of parking.

Alioto’s never disappoints. We attended a Christmas Dinner Party in one of their halls and the food was very good. I had the Chicken Parmesan with Mostaccioli while my wife enjoyed the Tenderloin Tips with Noodles. The Bartender made outstanding cocktails which were flowing all night.

Alioto’s was my Dad’s favorite restaurant when I grew up and we went there often, certainly most Fridays. It was always excellent. When my Dad died, we had his funeral lunch there and it was well organized and great. We continue to go back often. We just went with my extended family (30 people) for a fish fry on Good Friday. They treated us with excellence, great service, awesome fish fry, tartar sauce and Cole slaw were excellent. Great Italian bread. And outstanding Old Fashioneds. Is it a 5 star restaurant? Of course not. It is what it is. An icon for simple dining and wonderful fish fries in Milwaukee. I have been enjoying this restaurant for over 40 years. Many fish fries, events and funeral lunches. Simply a well run place that has special meaning to me and my family.

Have you ever been to a well-known restaurant with a long-standing reputation that somehow feels like it’s their first night open? If not, try Alioto’s.

After reading glowing reviews about the ambiance and décor, I thought it would be the perfect spot for a rare Wisconsin fish fry celebration. I was mistaken.

Our party of four was seated next to a group of 24, which set the tone for the evening. We managed to get one round of drinks, but it took over an hour to get a second—and even then, it seemed to surprise the staff that we wanted another.

As for the food? It was fine. Just fine.

Unfortunately, the atmosphere couldn’t make up for the lackluster service.
