They were happy to accommodate our vegetarian diet and brought us a complimentary cupcake for our anniversary. How did they know that I’m a Texan and the yellow rose is my favorite flower? We celebrated our friends 60th anniversary there. They had the fried shrimp anf my wife had the gnocchi with garlic sauce. I had the pork chops I read about in the reviews, and all of us enjoyed our food. The atmosphere is very nice and a quieter setting for those wishing to converse with appropriate quiet music in the background. The staff were attentive and pleasant from the moment we walked in. Thank you for a pleasant experience.

When I travel for work and stay in Iron River I make one night for Alice’s for supper. Dragged a coworker who’d never been to the area before there too. I am never disappointed and am treated as if I’m a regular and family. Such a friendly staff and even if I splurge on a bottle of wine and dessert the prices are super reasonable. Homemade everything and I struggle finding homemade pasta or even a traditional carbonara anywhere else I have to travel. Often I’m on my own and I’m never treated different! Love it, only glad I don’t live closer because I’d be there all the time!

Overall I love the atmosphere and the service because it felt warm and inviting and made sure we felt right at home, however the food was not what I was expecting.
First appetizers were breadsticks that looked and tasted like crackers with a cheese dip that had the same consistency as cheese whiz. Something to munch on but I was thinking I was going to have breadsticks, not cracker sticks that feel like they came from a kids Lunchables but jumbo sized.
Second was the entrée, filling and not completely void of taste but the dish seemed like it was just boiled pasta with a meat sauce thrown onto it. Reminds me when I started cooking and just threw diced tomatoes with tomato sauce over noodles.
I’m sorry to say that I don’t recommend this place if your looking for flavor, the nice thing about your entrée is that it comes with onion bread and a side of either salad or soup.
Hope that this review isn’t in poor taste, just wasn’t what I was expecting.

I equate the food to be the same as Taco Bell is to real Mexican food. Based on the prices I expected much better. The ravioli was like rubber on the out side and very dry on the inside. The chicken cacciatore was a baked chicken with a little red sauce. The cocktail I had was just great. Won’t be going back anytime soon.

I’ve been coming here for years , it’s always been a favorite whenever I’m in the area. The food and service are outstanding always! And now it’s been refreshed, it still holds the same quaint Italian atmosphere, but everything is bright, new and beautiful!
