Found Alice’s while traveling near Crawfordville, Indiana. Great little hometown diner. Had breakfast for lunch and it was very good. Just as good were the two folks working behind the counter. The woman was great with her service. Had coffee with our meal and never had to ask for refills because she was always there before I could ask. The man worked the grill like a musician. No wasted movements handling multiple orders and the pork tenderloin he made filled the plate it was on. The locals eating there were just as nice as the staff. Great conversation and we enjoyed it as much as the food. If you’re close, I recommend going if you’re in the mood for good old fashioned diner food.

We like to find local places to eat when we travel. This was very local and very good. If you’ve never had a breaded tenderloin from the Midwest, this is the place to try one! Prepared fresh, served hot to specification.
Simple good food. Loved the outside of the building. Funky!

Do not sleep on this unique welcoming diner, when we approached, we were a little taken back by the outside eclectic hippie colorful outside exterior, the pictures on google must be a bit older. We went inside and it’s a very traditional diner style and and we were warmly welcomed by the staff. We had the potato soup, beef vegetable soup with grilled cheese. The homemade desserts were to die for. Chocolate pie and Pumpkin Pecan cobbler. The desserts are made in house every day, and the soups are also made in house. The grilled cheese on rye was fantastic. The price was even better. I was able to get a grilled cheese bowl of soup and a drink for under $10. That’s super unheard of. But what’s even better? The food was outstanding. I will be back.

This was simply the Best breakfast I’ve had in quite some time. Amazing omelet with properly sauted peppers, onions, & mushrooms. It had way more flavor than normal. Perfect hash browns, sausage patties, and toast. Service was super fast. The place is small but seats turn quickly. Fun place to eat..

Stopped @ Alice’s restaurant while up here for a baseball tournament. Best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. If you’ve never had CRISPY EGDE PANCAKES…They serve them! Highly recommend. Perfect little place to eat good, leave full, and supporting awesome hard working small business owners!! Keep grinding!

we stopped at Alice’s restaurant in crawfordsville today. a grilled tenderloin with corn nuggets and a breaded tenderloin with fries set us back $27. the grilled tenderloin was a bit dry but had good flavor, I give it four stars. the breaded tenderloin was pounded flat and huge but was very dry and hard to swallow, 3 stars. corn nuggets bit too much breading to corn, not nearly as good as ones we had last weekend st Bernie’s bar in frankton Indiana. french fries nice and crispy without being greasy or oily. we got there around 12:30 on a Friday and I’m guessing it’s probably much better earlier in the day or week. unfortunately everything came in styrofoam, too many compostable options for that.
