Had one of the best American meals I’ve had in Philly at Alice. Honestly, everything from the apps to dessert was great.

We started with the green salad and the octopus. The salad was simple but really fresh, but the octopus was incredible, very tender. Definitely one of the standouts of the night.

For mains we got the dry-aged burger, ribeye for two, and tagliatelle. The burger was ridiculously juicy- like one of the juiciest burgers I’ve had, and the onions on it were so good. The ribeye was probably the best dish overall though. Perfectly cooked and the sauce that came with it might be the best steak sauce I’ve ever had. The tagliatelle was also really solid and rounded out the table nicely.

Finished with the absinthe chocolate chunk ice cream, which was a great way to end the meal, very creamy with a really nice subtle absinthe flavor.

Hard to pick favorites because everything was good, but if I had to: octopus, burger, and the ribeye were the standouts. Would absolutely go back.

Outstanding service! Most of the food was delicious.

I’m a vegetarian, so I’ll only talk about the vegetarian options. First, what you see on the website is not exactly what you get at the restaurant. On the website, besides the salads, the only vegetarian option listed is the Tagliatelle with spigarello pesto, black truffle, and pecorino. It was a little too salty and had a strange taste that I didn’t like.

At the restaurant, however, there are two additional vegetarian dishes:
– Grilled baby broccoli with hazelnut, sherry, and pecorino – the broccoli was hard and not tender, so it was difficult to eat.
– Red dragon carrots with kumquat, shallot, and mint – amazing!

**Salads:**
– Satsuma mandarins, pistachio, radicchio, and ricotta – delicious.

**Desserts:**
– Chocolate caramel tart – the best!

In general, the food is very good, and the service is outstanding. They constantly bring dishes, so you never have to wait long. The only downside is that the restaurant is quite small, so there isn’t much space to walk around or get up from the table to go to the restroom.

Alice is a charming corner restaurant in South Philly with a vast menu!

My mom and I were able to snag 2 bar seats at 7pm on a Friday. The hosts and bartenders were accommodating and friendly.

We started with the coal roasted oysters. The flavor was immaculate – the added lemon + hot sauce was the perfect bite. Our only gripe was how small the oysters were, they were tiny. 4 for $21. Then, we had the green salad with grilled artichokes. This was on the more tart side, but still delicious. A lot of different textures which kept each bite interesting.

We split the wagyu burger and fries. They give you a HUGE portion of fries and they were golden brown and crispy. However, they were extremely salty… and I’m a salt lover. My mom found them inedible. The burger was great. The caramelized onions added such a nice sweetness amidst the salty burger and bun.

Overall, we enjoyed our meal for the most part. We especially loved the ambiance, perfect for a date night. It just feels inviting. We definitely want to come back to try other items as the menu has such variety to it!

I had the opportunity to dine in this incredible restaurant. The foie gras , the oysters pasta and prawns were absolutely out of this world. Jaime and Justin were super nice and helpful, uber yourselves, parking is a nightmare…. Yet I can’t wait to come back for more . A true journey of excellence and creativity. The owner was very kind and friendly. Don’t miss it

Did the $125 tasting –
Apps: grilled octopus was 10/10! latkes + tuna tartare were very good (chips felt cliché but fennel pollen brightened the taste). Naan was tasty and smoky but a bit too soft; pomegranate didn’t add much.

Unexpected win: oysters w/ hot sauce

Mains: $95 steak cooked perfectly but was a bit fatty/heavy with tagliatelle. Fresh pasta and pesto helped but could have used more lemon/acid. Beans arrived a bit late and were underwhelming, not really cutting into the richness as I’d hoped.

Also (not pictured) the absinthe chocolate chunk ice cream was amazing!

Overall, great vibes, good service + excellent whiskey cocktail!

Cute little corner restaurant. Came for dinner for two around 6 PM. Service was a bit slow, but everything was very good. Menu is a little on the pricier side and serving sizes are moderate—enough to share between two people. Highly recommend reservations as it can get busy. Nice restaurant to visit if you’ve got a special occasion.

I had an amazing experience at Alice! The food was absolutely delicious, every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. You can truly taste the quality and care in every bite.

The service was just as impressive. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and made us feel completely taken care of from start to finish.

If you’re in Philly and looking for incredible food with fantastic service, this place is a must. I will definitely be coming back.

I would love to give this restaurant 10+ stars. Never have I had such delicious food. Every mouthful of every dish was pure heaven! This was a birthday treat for my friend. We shared 6 small plates. I don’t know which was THE best one. We started with drinks. He had the King Vidi and I the Shadowboxin. Both were expertly made. We then proceeded to enjoy Roasted oysters,Satsuma Mandarin salad, Tagliatelle, Foie Gras, Grilled Prawns and Grilled Broccoli. Every dish was spectacular and seasoned well. The accompanying sauces were smooth and velvety. We ended sharing a Chocolate Caramel Tart. My only issue was being seated next to the entrance where it was drafty whenever a new customer entered. I want to come back and try another selection of small plates. What a wonderful experience
Highly recommend!!!!

We did the chef’s tasting here. We’ve been doing a lot of tastings at newer restaurants in the city lately, and this is by far one of the best! The Kanpachi crudo, octopus, and steak were my favorites; I loved the char from the charcoal oven on those dishes. The plating is so beautiful, too. The coffee toffee ice cream was so good I wanted to buy a pint of it. Exceptional service -everyone was super nice and friendly. I can’t wait to go back and try the items that weren’t on chef tasting.

We had a lovely time at Alice for date night. Our server was very friendly and gave us great suggestions. Delicious mocktails. The food is on the pricier side but the atmosphere and overall vibe made it a real experience that was worth the money. The whole bronzino was generous and more than enough for two with a couple of small plates. The highlight was the coal-roasted oysters. Herby, tender, and delicious. All of the food was incredibly fresh and good quality. We will definitely be back!
