Arrived about 6:30p Friday 02/13/26 for the first time craving a gyro, selected a gyro combo. Friendly helpful staff and clean restaurant, food was excellent and I made sure to let him know personally how happy I was to have stopped by after my meal, Thanks again !

Stopped in at Alibaba’s after finding several restaurants in the neighborhood closed down for the evening. We were greeted by a very warm and helpful-If busy-“Atta” who took great care of us, made helpful suggestions and made our food absolutely beautiful. The restaurants is kept very clean; tables all wiped and atmosphere friendly, the food was presented beautifully and was about perfect. Our combo plate, gyros (chicken and beef/lamb) salads and dessert were wonderful.

Food was good and portions were good. The chicken gyro had a slight buffalo taste to it.

Overall, not very pleased with Ali Babas. The food was good but the service was awful. Went there last Saturday and got there at 10:30 am as that’s when the sign said it opened. Another guy and myself waited until 11:15 before an employee showed up. We stood on one side of the door. The employee unlocked his side of the door. He did not unlock our side nor did he push the door open so we could enter. Once inside, I asked him multiple questions about the menu as I had never ordered there before. The employee was very rude and would not answer my questions. He also was annoyed the other person and I had big orders right off the bat.

Decided to give this place a chance because I love supporting mom and pop shops. Sign on the front said 1292 for gyro, fries and a can soda. On the online menu it said around the same price but you can switch out the fries. In any case it was quite a bit more expensive than I thought it was so prices are a bit deceiving. We ordered a:
2 beef gyros that came with fries. Chicken gyro.
They charge around 92 cents for extra sauce which I think is kind of absurd.
It’s cash only!! So be sure to bring cash or else you can’t eat here.
Food:
The Euros were good enough, the meat however was really dry. The tomatoes and lettuce seemed fresh. Nothing special about the pita looks like they just took it out of a wrapper. I suggest getting extra sauce because the meat is really dry.
The chicken gyro what’s good. Meat seemed fresh.
The styrofoam container of fries we got was utterly disgusting. So $12.92 plus tax so above $13 gets you one mediocre gyro disgusting fries in a can of pop. To me that’s not really a value meal. From the business standpoint I can see why they give out so much fries, because they’re cheap.
Again the fries were utterly disgusting. Soggy, and overly hot.
There’s a lot of other better places to get gyros in the city. For the money, I would probably save your money and go somewhere else.
Hope this place can revamp their pricing, and try to make their meat a little bit more juicy and tender.

I will always make the drive for Ali Baba’s as I’ve never had a bad experience here. The food has always been amazing regardless of what I’ve order, the staff have been friendly and easy to converse with, the ambiance of the restaurant is very inviting, and the staff try to waste as little food as possible, even occasionally offering food to myself completely free of charge. It may be a bit on the pricer side but it’s 100% worth it. Highly recommended if you’ve never tried it out.

I tried Ali Baba’s today for the first time, and really enjoyed my gyro. I had read a few 2-3 star reviews and was hesitant, but the quality was really good and the food came out quickly. I’d put it one notch above Dyno’s Gyro’s. I’ll be back soon to try more items!

I brought a philly gyro, I thought it would be made like a philly steak but it wasn’t, there were no bell peppers, the white onions were not grilled, and the pita bread was old because it was hard at one spot. It doesn’t matter if you fry it because it will still be hard is what they failed to realize. They talked about us in Arabic. My friend also knew Arabic and told me what was said. We let them know that we knew what they said and of course they denied it, but I won’t ever go back. Those young guys, not the older gentleman.
