From the moment we walked into Ali Baba, we were transported into a vibrant world of rich flavors and authentic Mediterranean cuisine. This place delivers on both taste and quality — easily deserving a solid 4.5 stars.

The platters are generous and thoughtfully assembled, with perfectly seasoned rice and fresh accompaniments that make every bite satisfying. The shawarma — both chicken and lamb — was juicy, tender, and spiced just right, offering that classic, mouthwatering Mediterranean kick that keeps you coming back for more. The lamb, especially, stood out with its rich flavor and tenderness, cooked beautifully and paired with Mediterranean staples like hummus, tahini, and crisp salad for a truly balanced meal.

It’s easy to see the care that goes into each dish — from the smoky aromas of the grill to the bright, fresh garnishes that complete every plate. The variety on the menu means there’s something for everyone, whether you’re in the mood for hearty meats, fresh salads, or flavorful sides like baba ghanouj and falafel.

Service matches the quality of the food — friendly, attentive, and eager to make sure your experience is a great one. While a few menu items could be even more refined, the overall experience here is delightful. We can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu. Highly recommended for Mediterranean food lovers!

I had a really great experience at Alibaba in Simi Valley. The rice was absolutely amazing — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The lamb shawarma was fresh, tender, juicy, and honestly one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The portion was large and very satisfying.

The smothered rice was also delicious, and the overall plate had that comforting, home-style feeling. I even tried the pancakes, and to my surprise they were very nice — something I haven’t had in ages.

Service was friendly and welcoming, and the whole experience left a very positive impression on me.
Highly recommended. I’ll definitely be returning.

Really yummy. Ali Baba makes the best hummus and falafel. The hummus is velvety smooth. The falafel is consistently crunchy on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. They hit the mark every time. And the people are always super nice. Definitely worth a go.

Very disappointing experience. I ordered the chicken breast kabob and specifically asked for it not spicy because it was for kids. It came so spicy that even I, as an adult, couldn’t eat it. Restaurants should be transparent if their chicken kabob includes red pepper or heavy black pepper — traditionally chicken kabob is not spicy at most places.

We also ordered a beef plate, which looked completely different from the photos posted online. The meat was very chewy, overly spicy, and honestly not edible.

Overall, the food quality was poor, the dishes didn’t match expectations, and the meal felt like a waste of money. Unfortunately, we won’t be ordering again.

I love this great little Mediterranean restaurant. The food is always fresh and delicious. Its always clean, too. You can order take out, or dine in. They have ample seating. I think they do a pretty decent job of making you feel like you aren’t eating in a strip mall in So. Cal. The staff is always warm and welcoming. I’ve gone with friends, and alone. The meals are always delicious enjoyable, and I can never finish my plate!

We recently moved back from New York and were craving good Mediterranean food – shawarma, kufteh, falafel, baba ganoush, the whole nine. We found this restaurant and it had solid ratings so worth a try.

It didn’t disappoint! We ordered the family meal for pickup – the food was fresh as hell, seasoned perfectly and portions were incredible. Everything was spot on and I would say better than a lot of fancy nyc restaurants.

Chicken Shawarma = tender and tasty and well seasoned.

Beef Kufteh = super flavorful and juicy

Roasted Chicken = seasoned well and literally fell off the bone

Falafel = perfection.

Salad = fresh and flavorful

Baba Ganoush = fave

The staff was super friendly and on point with a lot of take out orders coming in due to the rain. Kudos to Chef O

We will be visiting again for family sit down dinner and take home a box of baklava ❤️

My pics don’t do the food justice and had to fend off the family to snap some pics before they ravaged the food

They serve the homeless every Sunday at 12:00 for lunch they are very kind people and they even give me a little chicken for my dog and a little bowl of water this is all the food that I eat on the weekends because there’s not really much else open around here so they are definitely part of my weekend schedule

It is a mystery why this restaurant has a 4.6 rating with 700 reviews. The atmosphere nor the food was 4.6
To the owner, please continue to learn, grow, evaluate and innovate. I suspect your gregarious nature gives you good standing within the community, which is great. It may be the community doesn’t want to leave more constructive reviews. Maybe with some fresh changes your business could go up substantially!?

Ali Baba Restaurant is an excellent choice for anyone who loves authentic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food. The dishes are flavorful, freshly prepared, and served in generous portions. The lunch I had here was absolutely delicious—the kebabs were tender and juicy, the rice was aromatic and perfectly cooked, and the fresh salads and sides complemented everything beautifully.
The service is just as impressive as the food. The staff is warm, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. They make you feel at home, and their genuine hospitality really enhances the dining experience.
