Alf’s ain’t cheap, but is there any on-mountain restaurant in the Rockies that is? Not that I’ve come across. $4 for about 6-8 ounces of coffee.

Pretty good food. Would recommend the excellent chili! Pricey but that’s to be expected for ski food. Only reasons this doesn’t get 5 stars is their COVID plan. Eating outside was safe (order online, pickup inside), but if you want to eat inside you have to wait in a long line that’s not social distanced, inside without ventilation, and has a lot of people without masks.

Decent sized restaurant halfway on the mountain. Serves typical ski food.

Food is a bit spendy, but typical of other resorts. Excellent sandwiches! I think they cater to a higher end clientele, so they don’t cut corners. High-quality ingredients make for a more memorable eating experience.

Alf’s is always crowded, and with good reason. Their chili and fries are the two stars of the show, but the deli and Grill food is good too. Prices are definitely higher than you’d pay down in the valley, but it’s a good place to go relax in the middle of your ski day.

[updated] It’s all fine tasting but really $15 for huge [was large] serving of fries and $15 for a hamburger? Admittedly a burger is $16.50 at other resorts. I’ll update fry data when I compare the size/cost of fries at other resorts. The bigger restaurant is plus, and handles the crowds of holidays better. Not so the line to get food. Why isn’t there a grab and go? Like it’s a surprise that there are 200 hungry people? We’re there for the snow, give us the food quickly so we can get back out there.

I love this ski area. It’s a throwback kind of place with great skiing. If you hit it on a powder day it is just fantastic.

Good ski lodge with nice made-to-order sandwiches ($11.75) which were better than the hot options. An $11 bowl of soup felt a bit rich.

In the last two years a cup of coffee has gone from $3 with a free refill to $5 with no refills. Do economic conditions justify this? Maybe, but I’ll just skip my visits to Alf’s, ski more and leave earlier.

Decent food for a ski area. Not a lot of options. Wish they could offer chicken on their quesadilla.
