No need to go to New Orleans, the Mardi Gras celebration at Alfie’s was as authentic as it gets. Excellent food at very reasonable prices. My gumbo was thick and spicy. Tacos overflowing with fresh ingredients. The PoBoy sandwich could satisfy two hungry customers. The music was hot with dueling trombones leading the dance party in a conga line. The band leader really knows how to work a crowd! Everybody was on their feet and rockin’ out. Staff was happy and helpful. All good!

Loved Alfie’s. It’s an awesome place to hang out in Stowe. Great drinks, tasty food, and plenty to do on site, whether you’re just stopping in for a couple of drinks or planning to spend a whole evening there. We went at various time but also for the NYE event and had an amazing time — great atmosphere, fun crowd, and everything felt really well put together without being pretentious.

The staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable the whole night, and you can tell they genuinely care about making sure everyone has a good time. It’s the kind of place you immediately want to come back to. Highly recommend if you’re in the area — definitely one of the standout spots in Stowe.

We went here for a drink and to check out the games situation. They did have cider for me, but no gluten free or gluten reduced beer.

They did have a ping pong table and corn hole games set up. We took advantage of both and greatly enjoyed ourselves.

They also offered darts and shuffleboard.
They had a good looking west coast Mexican food menu on site, but we didn’t partake since we had just eaten dinner.

Chris and team are great. The food is way more than pub grub. Lots for the kids to do apres ski. We’ll definitely be back!

I have been to Alfie’s twice for their karaoke night. I enjoyed myself the first time but had a less than stellar experience tonight. To give some context, Alfie’s has some random aesthetics going on. The space is an old garage with an industrial feel with the stage inside being decorated like the Black Lodge from Twin Peaks. They have a large screen behind the stage to play videos and images as people perform. Both times I’ve been here, there have been full movies playing on the screen. Every time they have been niche arthouse films (i.e. Federico Fellini’s 8 1/2.) The films often contain graphic imagery that is racist and violent (a strange vibe to bring to your business in my opinion.) Tonight, I witnessed someone speak to who I assume is the manager (white guy with white hair) and ask them to change the movie to something different, as there was a rape scene playing while someone sang karaoke. I watched the owner get very defensive at this request and ultimately did not turn off the movie. I will not be returning to Alfie’s as the owner demonstrated that he is unwilling to make his patrons feel safe, included, and comfortable.

Update:

It is revealing that the owner responded to my review in the manner that they did. The response was entirely defensive an introduced arguments about issues which I did not raise.

If the owner wants to show “art” films in their place of business, it is their right. It is my right to share my opinion and never again patronize this business.

Rather than meet the needs of patrons, the owner seems to have their own agenda (again; it is their right to conduct business as they see fit). However, the responses from the owner to my and others’ reviews demonstrates an inflexibility and unwillingness to understand the opinions of their patrons which, more than likely, will negatively impact if not end their business.

We came here for Thursday karaoke. Great space with arcade games, table top tennis, corn hole, spacious and had outdoor seats.

However they were playing a movie in the background of the karaoke stage that had graphic gendered violence. I understand the silent art film in the background concept, but the staff were not accommodating or friendly when a request was made to change/skip the movie. Disappointing because I loved the space and the potential there, we are locals and hadn’t been since it opened in 2022. We even liked the art film vibe, but if you’re going to be showing more out there stuff don’t be surprised if people have reactions

Edit: I’m very confused by the business’ response. We did not have an issue with masking, yelling, did not say night was ruined etc. I can only assume that other patrons also took issue with it and they’re confusing them with us? Pretty condescending response either way…

Alfie’s came highly recommended so We swung in to grab a few tacos, chips and an incredible “Graft” hard cider on draft! The space is fun and wide open with great details and textures. There are old arcade games, shuffle board and cornhole. We will definitely return for more tacos and a draft! The outdoor space will be so inviting and awesome to enjoy after mountain biking.
I do wish there was a pool table and chicken tacos, just saying
