What a gem! One can easily feel like they’ve been transported to the South with Southern hospitality. The vibe here is so down to earth, homey and family oriented. The food is amazing and made with love. We had the homefry feta sandwich and it was out of this world. The menu is so extensive we couldn’t decide what to choose. Everything looked good. The restaurant was full of family local patrons, classic jazz the likes of John Coltrane played overhead and our waitress was the sweetest woman. They take care with great pride. Service was immediate and personable, the food took time, it wasn’t pushed out fast because it was made to perfection and well worth the small wait. Would go again and try their griddle items or lunch!

I love this place. Food is perfect but service depends on each staffs. Sometimes is good, sometimes is not so good eg. No refill for my coffee and water, kept on forgetting to bring me drink. I love how they decorate the restaurant. Toilet is clean.

It was on my conscience to leave a review for this place so I stopped in the middle of eating so I don’t forget, people need to know how AWSOME!! This place is. Customer service-10, food broke the scale, ambiance-10. If you want the perfect place for breakfast this is the place for you, I’m really picky about my salads but I never had a salad this fresh, I’m truly impressed and considering it was super busy inside we did not have to wait to long. 10-10.

We were driving through and thankfully found Alex’s. I had the turkey club and my son had the caprese chicken sandwich. Both were excellent. Our server, Karen, was incredibly friendly. I highly recommend it.

This hidden gem is right in the heart of Poughkeepsie and has been my favorite brunch spot for 5 years now. The ambiance and staff are beyond my expectations of what small town restaurant could offer. If it were possible I’d spend my whole day there. If you’re in the area I’d highly recommend it.

Got moved from table to table because staff claimed a table I got sat at was supposedly reserved but was not marked or labeled as such. Then sat at another table that was next to a table not cleared of plates and garbage and then left that way for over twenty minutes. Floors where dirty unswept. Had ordered a glass of oj and glass was dirty. Restaurant understaffed on wait staff during a rush manager had to cover the mess with the only waitress. Bus boy didn’t wipe down table next to mine before setting new place mats and silverware on table. Over charged on my bill by a few dollars was so upset I didn’t care just wanted to leave. On the plus side staff friendly fair prices on menu good food. Has a gluten free menu but not the biggest. This was not the best visit I’ve had here. Very disappointed this trip will give one more try if they fail again I go somewhere else
