I was met with a smile before I even made it through the door, seated promptly… and then the wonderful staff immediately spilled a full pitcher of water all over me
Handled with grace, humor, and apologies—honestly set the tone for the whole night.

I started with the roasted corn and bacon chowder. First impression: perfect thickness and consistency for a dynamite chowda. The corn was plentiful, the bacon showed up in every bite, and the balance was spot on.

For the main course, I went with the Ritz-baked cod. The crust was crispy and cracked satisfyingly as I dove in, while the fish itself was cooked through but still tender and flaky. The mashed potatoes were creamy with a fluffy firmness you can really appreciate—comfort food done right.

Dessert did not disappoint. The vanilla crème brûlée had a beautifully caramelized top with that deeply satisfying crack, paired with a delicate, smooth filling. I saved the lemoncello sorbet for last—light, refreshing, fluffy, and perfectly lemony with just the right amount of zing. A great way to end the meal.

And the vibes… oh, the vibes. Down-to-earth, chill, and super homey. If eating at your in-laws was a stage play, this would be the version where everyone actually likes each other—warm, welcoming, and filled with a subtle but obvious love for the craft.

Would absolutely come back.

Update: food is still top shelf!
just found the bar it is the coolest live edge slab I’ve seen, there is literally a whole story goong on in it !! So cool!

What I really like about this place is the people 1000% everyone I talk to It’s just like I’m talking to a good friend who I haven’t seen in a while over a few beers.

This restaurant is truly a testament to loving what you do and having it show in your work.. the staff are friendly, charming, and sincere – we felt like family. The food is absolutely incredible. We were blown away by the brussel sprouts that started our meals.. and our entrees were delicious! Maine Lobster Ravioli and Pan Seared Scallops.. perfectly cooked and portioned. We will be back soon to try more of their inventive menu!

I’m on a quest to see as many state Capitol buildings as I can. So naturally I stopped in “Conquered” New Hampshire. After taking in the State House I asked AI to help me find a good local restaurant – and it delivered.

Alexandra’s is a ways away from the energy of downtown but well worth the drive!
Monday night is pasta night, so you hop in line and the chef makes individual pasta at your request right in front of you.
Not only was the food amazing, but it felt like everyone dining there knew each other and were part of the same beautiful community.

I was going to sit at the bar by myself until two locals invited me to join them and swap life stories!
Everything about this place represented New England at its finest.

Don’t let the size fool you. This little bistro only has 10 tables and a bar, but the experience was fantastic. The staff was super friendly, very present and helpful. The pasta bar was incredible! The food was so fresh and flavorful. RaeAnna was a wonderful host!

We stopped here by chance while passing through, looking for a place to have dinner near the highway – and we didn’t expect to find something this good. The crab bisque was incredibly delicious and surprisingly unique as a starter. The filet mignon was cooked and seasoned to perfection, on par with the best steakhouses. The scallops were pure poetry, served with sweet potato fries that we normally don’t enjoy – but here they were outstanding. The crème brûlée was also exceptionally good. The restaurant was spotless, beautifully decorated, and the service was warm and welcoming. Special thanks to the lovely waitress from Bulgaria – unfortunately, we didn’t catch her name. Wholeheartedly recommended!

My mother and I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. We had no complaints and each course was better than the last. Ending on a crème brûlée that was just the best we’ve ever enjoyed. Please take the chance and visit this small in size but exemplary in cuisine restaurant.

My husband and I recently moved to the area and were looking for a good restaurant nearby. So glad we tried Alexandra’s Bistro! Our meal was excellent as was the service.

We got the roasted corn chowder and also a cauliflower bisque that was the soup of the day to start. For our entrees we had the salmon and the haddock. We ended our meal with the creme brulee.

Everything about the meal was perfect from the flavors to how it was cooked to the presentation. This would be the perfect spot for a date night or a birthday dinner.

I saw a couple other reviews mentioning that the atmosphere could be different, and I can see what they mean. It was not bad at all, it just seemed a bit bright which made it feel a lot more casual than the quality of the meal would have you believe. This is not meant as a criticism but just mentioned to expand on what some other reviews stated.

Truly a hidden gem. Can’t wait to go back!

I’ll be echoing what every other review is saying: this place is awesome. I have lived in Portland, Maine and just outside of Boston, and coming back to Concord I have always missed being surrounded by great food. Alexandra’s Bistro has brought some amazing food to a place that really needs it. Highly recommended. Anyone not checking this place out is only doing themselves a disservice.
