Good food. Amazing quality. However for $90 (fed four) you would think they would put more guacamole and tortilla chips (charged separately for the items). A little over priced.

Food was cold. Here’s another good business with lots of potential. Unfortunately, it’s not managed properly. Food was premade probably a few hours ago. If they will make their food fresh, meaning, cook them per order, not precooked them in advanced, the food will be fresh. They think because it’s been under a heating container it will keep it fresh. Meat needs to be juicy not dry and rubbery in order to be good. I was disappointed to say the least. Maybe if they change their way like “in n out “ burger in California, they will get more business. I’m n out burgers are made per orders and people wait for hours because it’s fresh. But if you’re cravings for Mexican food, there’s a wagon truck in Honolulu’s at the end of the airport. Waiwai train station fresh food always.

Anyone in the mood for some real, authentic Mexican food, or drinks, should definitely visit Alejandro’s! This location is outside of town, but even in the middle of the afternoon, there are people coming in for food! Highly recommend their tacos, but it went with a marinas burrito instead this trip. It did not disappoint with authentic seasoning and fresh ingredients!

Hidden gem; best Mexican in the Pacific Ocean.
Don’t be scared by the outside or the fact it’s not in a crazy over developed area.

Allergy friendly.

This is very much a hole in the wall place; there are two sides a take out side and an eat-in side with a bar.

The food was delicious and authentic.

The staff is friendly.

Gluten free options and understanding of other allergies and willing to accommodate.

Three co-workers and I went to have lunch at Alejandro’s Tacos in Kalihi Valley. This was my first visit; the other three had gone there previously. We lucked out; there was a car pulling out as we arrived, so we scored a parking space. Serendipity!

We sat in the bar next door. I started with a Corona ($6); what’s Mexican food without a Corona? Not happening, at least for me. The others were good with glasses of water.

I ordered the #2 Taco Combo (a beef, a carnitas and a carne asada taco), Spanish rice and pinto beans ($16.50). Another ordered #3 Taco Combo (a carnitas and two carne asada tacos) with the Spanish rice and pinto beans ($17.50) and the others ordered the wet burrito combo plate ($16). We added two orders of chips and salsa ($6.75 each).

Our orders came very quickly … The tacos were so flavorful. I poured salsa over my Spanish rice to moisten it; the pinto beans still retained their shape … not cooked down to become refried beans. I really liked my #2 combo.

My only quibble is I would have wanted freshly fried tortilla chips. I think the ones we got were made somewhere else … they reminded me of potato chips.

Alejandro’s is a hidden gem … seek it out, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended!

I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately I got the wrong order. My wife and I came here 17Dec2025 about an hour before closing. The staff was very friendly, food came out hot and fast. I ordered a mega carne asada burrito ($18) and my wife got a regular carnitas burrito ($12) with the add ons such as sour cream, salsa ect it came out to like $30 bucks which is pretty normal here in Hawaii. When I took my first bite I realized they gave me carnitas instead of carne asada, it was pretty good! But my issue was that I didn’t get what I ordered and I was also charged an extra $4-$5 bucks for something I didn’t even want. Like I mentioned it was before closing so I didn’t get a chance to get it remade or anything.

Seriously disapppinted.

This place is more in line with the low end reviews realistically

I ordered nachos to go expecting to get them served to me traditional…. although I appreciate the sentiment of avoiding my nachos getting soggy by separating the chips from the topping… as a mexican that’s not what you expect…

I expect to see nachos served traditional or at least offer that as an option for to go’s. The macho burrito enchilada sauce tasted store bought, meat was dry, rice was clumpy, beans were clumped up in the back and not poured over and to top it off the nachos were served with that yellow supeebowl nacho cheese. Alejandro where is the queso fresco y también the real queso..
What I recieved is not traditional nachos…..

Oh and the sauces looked water down too.
Neither sauces were traditional mexican made. Trust me.

Was really rooting to enjoy this place but sadly did not.

Nice “hole in the wall” bar and restaurant. Staff was professional and courteous. Parking is a bit tight but manageable. Nice ambiance and over all feeling was comfortable and friendly. The hats on the ceiling were a cool touch as was the bar countertop with the change under the resin.

Chips and salsa were tasty albeit a little pricey. I enjoyed the carne asada and carnitas taco but not the beef taco so much. The carne asada quesadilla was good and the side of fresh avocado tasty.

Alejandro’s Mexican Food – Flavor That Slaps, Vibes That Stick ️

Let’s get one thing straight—Alejandro’s is NOT your average taco joint. This place brings the kind of authentic, mouth-watering Mexican food that hits your soul and keeps you coming back for more. You walk in and immediately get that cool, laid-back neighborhood vibe—music pumping, kitchen sizzling, people laughing, and the smell of seasoned carne asada floating through the air. You know you’re in for something good.

I rolled in with a crew of ridiculously good-looking friends—the kind of group that makes you look like the designated driver in every photo . But hey, I’m not mad about it—they brought the eye candy, I brought the appetite. Fair trade. And when our food hit the table? Game over. Total silence, except for happy chewing sounds and the occasional “Damn, that’s good.”

Let’s talk about the tacos: legit next-level. Perfectly seasoned meats, fresh toppings, tortillas that don’t fall apart like a cheap knockoff. The birria? Juicy, flavorful, and served with consommé so good it could bring peace to the world . The salsas? They don’t just bring the heat—they bring depth ️ . You can taste the love and tradition in every bite.

Bonus points for the service—fast, friendly, and full of personality. These folks hustle with pride and treat you like familia. The place gets busy, and for good reason, but the line moves fast and the payoff is .

Look, whether you’re local, just visiting, or just looking to impress your hot friends with food that matches their energy, Alejandro’s delivers. No gimmicks, no fluff—just bold, honest, delicious Mexican food that speaks for itself.

10/10. I’d happily go back again—even if I end up being the least photogenic one in the group again

Amaze balls. We were driving to the Botanic Gardens and found this place on Google, reviews were good so we stopped. Everyone said it was to go only but there is a bar with seating. Tiffany was a delight, the actual bar was so unique and cool, there’s a restroom, music, TVs and, of course, the tacos. Oh. Em. Gee. We are from Colorado and we have some amazing Mexican food. We even have our favorite hole in the wall taco joint run by a mom and daughter. Alejandro’s tacos were fire. I mean, we love our taco place at home but holy moly we wish we could take Alejandro’s tacos home!!! I had shredded chicken and they were so juicy and flavorful and delish!!! Hubby had carnitas and asada. So. So. Yum!! The rice and beans weren’t terrible but weren’t anything to rave about so next time (tomorrow) we’ll just do tacos. We literally talked about the tacos the rest of the afternoon and evening yesterday! I’m not sure if the place is exactly accessible and the parking is scant but you definitely need to try it! At least for take out! But the music was jammin’, the beer was cold and the folks friendly and we loved it! One of our favorite things about traveling is finding the unexpected and being blown away. This was totally one of those experiences! We will tell everyone we know visiting Oahu to look up Alejandro’s. And hopefully Tiffany will be there.
