We arrived as a party of six — including two grandparents — at a restaurant we had visited before, with the same dog. That’s not a footnote; that’s the point. Aleenta had already welcomed Playa on a previous visit ✅. This time, the welcome had apparently expired .
Playa is a medium-sized, well-trained, calm dog who settled silently beneath the table before anyone had even opened a menu. No barking. No movement. No complaints. We were already seated when staff approached and told us we had to leave.
The justification? Playa was “disturbing other guests” . We looked around. There was exactly one other occupied table. One 1️⃣. The restaurant was essentially empty ️, the space was wide open and fully ventilated — outdoor, airy, and wind-swept — and not a single person had raised an objection. The “disturbed guests” appeared to exist entirely in the staff’s imagination ️ .
And yet they kept repeating it . Same line, same tone, zero willingness to look at the actual situation in front of them . No attempt to find a solution . No acknowledgment of the absurdity of uprooting six people — including elderly guests — over a dog that was, by every observable measure, causing no disruption whatsoever .
What you get at Aleenta, apparently, is selective hospitality : dog-friendly when it suits them ✅, rigidly inflexible when it doesn’t ❌. If you’re a responsible dog owner with a well-behaved animal, save yourself the humiliation . They’ve made their position clear — and they’ll repeat it until you leave .
⭐☆☆☆☆ — Rude . Shameful . Not a place for families .
I am a grandmother and I don’t write reviews very often, but what happened to our family at Aleenta left me so upset that I felt I had to say something.
We came as a group of six — my husband and I, our family, and Playa, a beautiful, gentle, well-behaved dog who we have brought to this very same restaurant before with no problem whatsoever ✅. We were seated, we were settled, and Playa was lying quietly under the table like the good girl she is ❤️.
Then the staff came over and told us we had to leave because of the dog . I could not believe my ears.
They kept repeating — over and over — that Playa was disturbing other guests . I looked around that restaurant myself . There was one other table with people sitting at it. One 1️⃣. And nobody there was complaining. Nobody even seemed to notice us. We were outside in the open air , plenty of space, plenty of breeze — and they were telling us this calm, silent little dog was causing a disturbance ️ ?
What upset me most was not just the decision — it was the manner . No kindness. No apology. No effort to find a solution for two elderly guests who had already sat themselves down . Just the same cold answer, repeated until we had no choice but to get up and leave.
At my age you don’t ask for much from a restaurant — just good food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a little basic human decency. Aleenta managed none of the three that evening .
I will not be returning ♀️ , and I would gently suggest that if you are planning a family outing — especially with a dog you love — you spend your money and your energy somewhere that actually deserves it .
I am not a man who complains easily . I have been around long enough to know the difference between a genuine misunderstanding and plain bad management . What happened at Aleenta was the latter.
I was visiting my family here in Thailand from Austria ✈️ and they brought me out for a nice evening together ❤️. Six of us in total, including another grandparent and the family dog Playa — a calm, well-trained animal who had been to this exact restaurant before without any issue ✅. We were seated. We were comfortable. Playa was flat on the ground under the table, not making a sound .
Then a member of staff came over and informed us the dog was not welcome . I asked why. The answer? She was disturbing other guests .
I looked around that restaurant . One other table occupied. One 1️⃣. Those people were not looking at us. They were not complaining. They were minding their own business, as were we. We were sitting in an open outdoor area — not a closed room, not an intimate indoor dining space — with plenty of air and plenty of distance between tables.
When I pointed this out, they just repeated themselves . Same words. No reasoning. No flexibility. No respect for the fact that they were asking two elderly grandparents and a family of six to get up and leave over a dog who was, frankly, better behaved than some children I have seen in restaurants .
What bothered me most as a father was watching my family be treated this way during what was supposed to be a special visit . No apology. No attempt at a solution. Just a wall of repetition until we had no choice but to walk out the door .
I have eaten in restaurants across Europe and beyond over the years ️. Good service costs nothing. A little common sense costs nothing. Aleenta had neither that evening .
Take your family somewhere that actually wants you there . This is not that place .
Until one day when they objected to the presence of my silent and well trained dog– which had accompanied myself and the guests I’ve brought with me over the years many times.
With zero attempt at explaining what was the matter, every staff member simply insisted that the dog was not welcome. It doesn’t matter that she’s quiet. It doesn’t matter that she’s trained. It doesn’t matter that they lose a loyal customer and all the guests that come with me. They offered us an ugly take outside of the restaurant with no breeze and no view!
The stuff must not even understand this policy change, or else they don’t have the customer service training to speak reasonably and kindly to a returning customer. An emphatic and repeated no, with no ability to explain has driven away my service.
and helpful. You can even take cooking classes in the restaurant which we highly recommend. Happy hour offers a variety of cocktails & mocktails too. The fresh baked croissants offered at breakfast are to die for. This is a locally owned establishment. Definitely check this spot out if you’re in the area – you won’t be disappointed!!!
The food was always fresh, creative, and delicious.
Service was excellent.
Khun lek and khun mew are very lovely and service minded!!
My favorite of all time is their French toast and waffle (for breakfast) and must order menu is Tiramisu!! Oh my gosh! Its the best in my life!
