We found this diamond by Googling Food Near Me when in Seattle and hit the gold mine. I can’t say enough about the staff, service, and the food is AMAZING!!! We were nearly in shock from the authentic cuisine, the value (took leftovers home for an extra meal each) and we sooo happy! We considered looking for a house near Alebrijes so we can go more often, haha. Amazing, YOU NEED TO GET IN THERE AND ENJOY THIS FOOD!!!!

I liked the vibe of this place. It very much gives off a mini-Mexico kind of feeling, from the decorations, to the smaller space, and the wait staff.
The starting salsa that came along with the chips was interesting here. It felt more spicy and more sour than what you’d typically expect, and slightly thicker as well. It’s definitely better than the average salsa you’d get at a Mexican restaurant.
For an appetizer, we had the baked queso, which came with a couple tortillas. I didn’t like this that much – the baking didn’t give that much creaminess to the queso – as it mostly stayed in block form. Eating with the tortilla felt a little bland
The carnitas enchiladas rojos I got for the main course were solid. They came with a lot of cheese on top, and this cheese was melted well. The corn tortillas had a good cook-level for enchiladas – being hard enough not to fully collapse but also give under a little bit of effort.
The actual pork itself was fine. It was leaner than I expected – really didn’t get too much flavor, and it felt slightly lacking in the amount stuffed into each enchilada.
The overall amount of food in the plate was very high though, especially when you add in the beans + potatoes.
I should also note that their house margarita was extremely good here.
For dessert, we shared the flan, which was interesting in how soft it was. I generally liked it.
The cost per person ended up being around $40, with the appetizer, dinner, dessert, and a drink. Thought mostly everything was fairly priced for the amount of food received – although the flan was probably on the expensive side.
Overall, I think this place does above-average Mexican food, but I wouldn’t say its worth coming back to. 7.5/10

I recently moved here from Austin Texas and this is the best Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in Seattle. I highly recommend the steak and shrimp appetizer. I asked for a spicy salsa and the chef made me my own bowl. The margs could be a little stronger and the pastor seasoning was a tad overpowering for my tastes but overall it’s amazing you gotta get in here

I’ve been wanting to eat here for a while. I drive by it daily, and everyone raves about how good it is. I was excited to see that people were actually taking to go boxes after their meals. I was thinking wow good thing I came starving! We only had to wait about 10 minutes, and this was on a Friday night. They don’t have a lot of tables in there, so it was a nice surprise that we got in quickly. The atmosphere is so cozy, I just loved it! We got to sit right by the fireplace which was a nice touch. We ordered two house made margaritas which were delicious and on point! Don’t hesitate to order one. The green salsa was so yummy I wanted to ask for a huge bowl of it! I couldn’t decide what to order so I got the pork tacos, and my husband had the pork enchiladas. Best of both worlds! They both had amazing flavor to make your mouth have a dance party! We both ate our whole meals, so I guess no take home boxes for us. Maybe everyone else is a small eater that we saw, or we are just pigs. I can’t wait to go back and try their other dishes.

I hardly ever negatively review a restaurant but I am amazed at the 5 star reviews for this place. We ate there when they first opened and it was borderline inedible- the salsa at that point was a pink thin oily, sauce? We chalked it up to opening a restaurant and maybe inconsistent. I’ve seen nothing but rave reviews since so I talked my wife, against her judgement, into retrying it. The salsa has zucchini in it and tasted like slightly spicy tomato sauce, the server took our order and we didn’t get margaritas until after our food arrived which was about 25 minutes later (it was busy, they only had two people working front of house but still). Those margaritas were wildly inconsistent, my wife’s had way too much tequila and mine had very little. I got pork tacos this time as I was underwhelmed by the shrimp enchiladas last time, second strike. The pork was bland and dry, the rice was similar and the beans were… black beans, they had no significant additions. My wife got the shrimp tacos and they were similarly bland, neither of us got the potatoes with our meal that were listed on the menu but also, why potatoes are included is confusing to me as well ♂️. I would love to be proven wrong about this place, we live close by but with gorditos, tacos and beer, la cuadra, la carta de Oaxaca, el camión, gracia and el moose all within striking distance I just don’t think we’ll be back. Man, tequilas is better up the street and they aren’t great! Reading all the reviews I feel like I’m taking crazy pills but i stand by my rating.

Environment was nice and cozy heaters everywhere, keeping the place warm and comfortable. Staff was nice and friendly. This was our first time here. We really loved how the menu was simple, with a well thought out kids menu. Food portions were way bigger than we expected, making the prices very reasonable. The taste, happy to say the food was absolutely delicious. We got the fish tacos and birria tacos. Will definitely be back again soon.

Be careful, the freshly made chips are addictive. The salsa is a different style — blended, but still flavorful. The guac was pretty good too. The guys enjoyed their enchiladas and fish tacos. Took off a star because the crab syncronizada was too heavy for my taste. Drinks were delicious though — the marg mocktail and the full strength margs. The prices were very reasonable for Seattle. We’ll definitely be back.

I’ve been to Alebrijes Kitchen twice for dinner, and I have enjoyed both meals. If you can handle/enjoy some heat, the camarones appetizer is so good. I enjoy mojitos with a ton of mint, and Alebrijes Kitchen does not disappoint. The Veggie Verde Enchiladas are very cheesy and seasoned well. My partner enjoyed the Carne Asada, describing the meat as very flavorful and tender. For dessert, he had the key lime pie. It was delicious. I had the flan, which was very creamy. Overall, service is speedy. Be prepared to street park. Although, I haven’t come a cross an issue finding spots. As a Southern California native, this restaurant reminds me of the comfy Mexican food I grew up with.
