A nice mix of French technique, French dishes, and North African flavors.
The restaurant was quite a pleasant seating.
Small plates, the North African bread was very good.
A number of creative mousses, and interesting flavor combinations.
There was no single dish that was very memorable, but the overall experience was very good.

My sister and I had a wonderful experience here! Chef Youssef was able to paint a picture of his life in Tunisia and the flavors of his childhood. Truly a beautiful blend of story telling through various Tunisian flavors. The sommelier/front of house manager was also wonderful in his wine choices, attentiveness and overall kindness. Thank you for an incredible dining experience! We will be back 🙂

A delightful, delicious and actually masterful meal. We almost cancelled due to timing and are so happy we did not. It was the best meal we had in Paris and I cannot recommend enough. Our server was actually the chef which we did not know at the time, and he was lovely! Service was perfect. The food was not only delicious and creative, but it was gorgeous…the fish, chicken and cheese dishes were my favorite…only note I have is that perhaps I am not up to the task of beets on my dessert…but the meal was stupendous!

The dinner was amazing! We did the five course experience and I almost asked to change to the seven course because we didn’t want it to end! It was really one of the best dinners I’ve had and would highly recommend it! All the flavors you get to taste, it’s just surprising how something you think it’s simple and ordinary like a cauliflower can taste so amazing! Also, the best service! Can’t wait to be able to come back!

Read the NY Times article on 5 new chefs that were shaking up the Paris restaurant scene and Aldehyde was mentioned. So when we visited Paris this was on our “must visit” list. In fact I planned it to be our last dinner in Paris and I strongly recommend you do the same. None of the other highly rated (based on online reviews) quite met our expectations. A few fell completely flat. Aldehyde actually exceeded what we were looking for. The atmosphere is casual. Not much in terms of stunning decor, no historical artifacts. But if you sit in the front room you have a view into the kitchen and can see the focus that goes into the food. There is no menu. You place your evening in the capable hands of the chef and your only decision is the 5 or 7 course tasting. We figured last night in Paris so…7! I recommend not eating lunch if you plan on that because with wine you’ll get full by first dessert. Yes there is a second dessert with 7 courses. We were served by the chef for some courses and the maitre’d for others. Almost every dish had a final touch completed at the table, along with a description of the dish. No point describing the tastes – essence of geranium! – since other reviews covered this. My point is, coming here first raises the bar on other dining experiences you will have in Paris. There may be more elegant surroundings, but we visited some of those places and we didn’t take pictures of the food. Look at the reviews for Aldehyde and see the difference. It’s expensive no doubt, but we’ll worth it.

We visited as a party of 3 for the ‘signature’ 7-course menu. Every single bite that we enjoyed during our evening at Aldehyde was incredibly delicious. The flavor of every dish was perfectly balanced and well-executed. We loved how some of the dishes highlighted family recipes from the chef’s childhood. The chef and sommelier were so warm and welcoming and made our dining experience so comfortable. Thank you for creating such a wonderful, memorable dining experience that was a highlight of our time in Paris!

Totally worth the Micheline star.
Chef Yousef Marzouk himself and the staff were extremely hospitable, explaining about every dish and answering questions patiently.
the Chef gives a lot of respect to each ingredient, bringing “simple” vegtable and root to perfection (Turnips, squash, cilantro) by terms of taste and texture
we had a 6-course lunch, all were excellent. mainly the duck varies with turnip, fish with cilantro root, and amazing desert
6 course each including 1 chablis + 1 ginNtonic for 200euros. VFM

A fantastic little restaurant with amazing food with Tunisian influences on classical French cuisine. The owners can’t do enough for you, attention to detail is fab, you can feel the warmth for each other and the food in everything they do, you can see why Michelin were very quick to give them a star! Not to be missed.

I had lunch there on weekdays, booked for 1239 and the restaurant was almost full by then, so reservations is a must.
The atmosphere of the restaurant makes you feel warm and welcome. Staff were all very nice. I had a 3 course lunch and all courses were presented nicely and they all taste good and fresh.
I’m not sure is that because it’s a spring menu, all courses had a hint of sour or citrus taste. It’s very refreshing at the beginning but I’m not sure about that for all courses, or may be it’s just I’m not into citrus or taste of sour.

Absolutely amazing! This is my second visit this year and the second time around was just as impeccable the first. Chef Marzouk’s menu is flawless and the service is unmatched. A must go place if you are in Paris. Or go to Paris just for a meal here if you can.
