Recently I learned that ‘Alcove’ is a fancy name for “nook”, or better yet, “hole in the wall”. That’s how this restaurant was started, as a hole in the wall. This is one of the best diners I’ve been to for years. You’re not gonna find the family treatment and service and down home food here anymore as restaurants like these slowly fade away. Come hungry, leave stuffed. Come as a customer, leave as a friend.

My recent dining experience wasn’t as good as previous visits. Their omelets are more like scrambled eggs with toppings added. Then their scrambled eggs came out as just fried eggs. Sausage patties were very bland. This place serves as a better memory vs. a current choice for dining. The safe bet is sticking with eggs, bacon, or French toast.

I love this old cozy Alcove! Food was so yummy! I got the beef manhattan and green beans. Great friendly service. It was our waitress’s first day there! She was perfect!

Good good good service. All you eat specials 7.50 good deal. They say all you can eat but I only had 1 plate plus a piece the size of a quarter .time to replace broken plates and maybe cups. Also I would hire someone to do dinner you guys will make a lot more money. I love being yelled at

Great little hole in the wall. The home fries were delicious. A lot of food for the price. Which I’m not complaining about! The only thing I would say is the French toast could be improved. It needs something to make it sweeter than just the syrup. Maybe like powdered sugar. But overall a great little spot!

Good breakfast food, omelette was good and reasonably priced. Good service as well. I’d come back.

I’m guessing from the looks we received from other patrons that we aren’t the “typical” customers you would see here. Or, it could be that we just aren’t “regulars” because the staff honestly knew the names and orders of everyone walking in the door! Lol. The server was super friendly. The food was delicious. The cook is holding it down all by herself and doing an amazing job! This is home cooking at its finest. We would definitely come here again, if we’re ever back in this area!

Opened since 1979, this town square diner serves a mean breakfast. This is how you start your day early, when it’s 26 degrees outside!

Food bland, no seasoning. I asked for sausage breakfast patties, ended up with a tasteless brick of something (brick pictured). The best thing about the meal was the 2 scrambled eggs and the toast. Definitely not worth $8.20. Would not recommend this place.
