The cocktails here come in almost an infitine variety and they are all exceptional in flavor and taste. The atmosphere here truly feels like a hidden 1920s prohibition gem tucked away in the Arizona desert. Having the arcade upstairs is a nice change of pace as well, if you need an interactive arcade bar getaway. The service at Alchemy 48 and the arcade is wonderful, the people here are so engaging and friendly. Will definitely bring more of my friends and family here for good times, great drinks, and even greater vibes.

This place was really cool looking and we loved the secret entrance. The chandeliers were stunning, love the 1920’s decor and the music was fitting. We didn’t have a good experience because we asked the host if we could sit on a couch, she said it’s OK if we don’t mind sharing if others come in, which we were ok with. Then a server came up and told us it was only reserved for large parties and he made us move. There was definitely some confusion about the seating, which was fine, we sat at in some lovely chairs which were comfy but the the server seemed frazzled. Anyway the drinks we ordered were delicious! We were excited to try more of the menu but we couldn’t get service. No one came by, no one filled our empty waters, and even the table next to us left because they couldn’t get any service. When the server came by, we mentioned we’d been waiting over half an hour for someone to come by and he threw some attitude about how several people called off (it was the day after Christmas) which was understandable but his attitude was so rude, I’m sorry it’s not our fault you’re short staffed, he was super unfriendly and obviously wanted us to leave, so we did, after only one drink in the whole hour.

This was a wonderful place for a special occassion. My group started at the arcade- food, drinks and games and finished the night by going downstairs for the incredible atmosphere, drinks and even a jazz singer. The entire evening felt like we were sent back to the 1920’s with the decor and vide. The entire evening was one to be remembered- thanks to all the staff and owner who helped make this all happen. Wonderful night!!!! I highly recommend checking it out!

We had a reservation at 8:30. We waited 15 minutes before someone came out to ask if we had reservations. The GM (Brandon) came out and asked who had reservations. We had asked online to he close to music. We have been regulars since you opened for Jacki! We sat at the only available spot where we could not see her and everyone in front of us could have cared less that there was music. We moved to a more open spot where we could see her when they left only to he confronted by Brandon. He said I could kick you out but I’m not going to do that tonight. There were numerous tables that opened up near the music all evening long but never would move us. We may NEVER be back! We will see Jacki elsewhere!
Very poorly ran!!!!

Such a fun speakeasy experience. Located on the bottom floor of the Level One arcade, Alchemy 48 is a moody hangout, with fantastic drinks, and excellent entertainment!

We went there for our anniversary celebration. We were escorted downstairs and found the ‘secret door’. We sat at a comfy bistro table in front of the singer.

We ordered a bowl of cashews, the peacock and the glad rags. The cocktails were so good. You could definitely knew they were strong (which we like) but they were very well balanced. The brought us a card for our anniversary with gift cards for level one, outcast doughnuts, and rebel wine lounge…very generous!

Jackie Lopez is a top notch lounge singer with a deep repertoire! She sang standard jazz hits to a jazzy No Diggity! She was amazing! Jackie performed Etta James’s At Last for our anniversary which was super sweet .

Great way to end the evening and we’ll visit again when we’re in town!

So cool! A speakeasy tucked away within an arcade bar – a truly unique find in downtown Mesa! This hidden spot delivers an experience that’s both elegant and incredibly cool, transporting you back to a bygone era. It’s the perfect clandestine escape for a sophisticated night out.
* Atmosphere: An elegant and cool ambiance that perfectly captures the speakeasy vibe.
* Service & Theme: Top-notch service with all staff dressed in authentic speakeasy-era threads, enhancing the immersive experience.
* Mixology: Mixology was on point, offering flavorful twists on classic options. My martini was exceptionally delicious and unlike any I’ve had before.
* Event Potential: Ideal for a themed group event or special occasion; already planning to invite friends for a prohibition-era dress-up night!
* Future Plans: Definitely returning on a Saturday night when live music is playing to fully experience the vibrant atmosphere.

I love the space, decor, diverse and lush seating areas. My beau and I have been a few times with varying levels of satisfaction. The drinks are fairly consistent but the servers are not. I recommend making a reservation and going off-peak (not Friday or Saturday night). On our last visit we got there just after opening at 7 pm on Saturday night without a reservation. There was one woman leading guests in and keeping everyone up top under control. Give her a medal! After an hour we were seated but our server never came to the table. Finally I caught Super Woman as she seated another group. She thought we were looking for the check and was shocked when I said we hadn’t yet ordered. The server came over and went to the newly seated group then completely passed us by for another ten minutes. We were ready to go elsewhere when she finally served us. It really is a gorgeous space, just so much better when the staff isn’t rushed. Quick note: they have light bites. We ordered the olive and herbed cheese plate and they were amazing! But don’t go there hungry

Absolutely incredible experience at Alchemy 48!

Brandon and Jon made our night unforgettable. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was on point—classy, cozy, and full of character. Brandon was welcoming, attentive, and made us feel like VIPs the entire evening. And Jon, the mixologist, was super-duper fabulous! Every cocktail he crafted was a masterpiece—beautifully balanced, creative, and downright delicious.

The entire staff was amazing, and you can tell they truly care about creating a special experience for every guest. I can’t wait to bring more friends next time to share in the magic. Hands down one of my new favorite spots in Mesa! ✨
