Amazing experience at Albert Mofongo!
Just had dinner here and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the Chicharrón Mofongo and my wife had the Shrimp Mofongo – both were out of this world. The texture, flavor, everything was perfect. The best part is, we haven’t found a place that compares, no one makes mofongo like Albert Mofongo!
Location is great, at 86 Anderson Avenue, Hackensack, NJ. Definitely coming back. Highly recommend!

Albert’s Mofongo is a great new spot! This was our first visit, and we were really impressed. The restaurant just opened two months ago, and it’s already off to a fantastic start. They offer a lunch buffet special, which is a nice bonus.
We ordered the mofongo with shrimp and fried cheese, chicken breast stuffed with ham and cheese, lobster mofongo, and fried chicken bites. Every dish was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The mofongo was especially delicious—well-seasoned and paired beautifully with the shrimp and lobster. The stuffed chicken breast was tender and rich, and the fried chicken bites were crispy and satisfying. They have my favorite: freshly squeezed orange juice.
Service was friendly, and the atmosphere felt welcoming. We’ll definitely be coming back!

On Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026, at 11:30am, I decided on my day off to go out for some food. I passed Albert’s Mofongo, thinking no thanks… due to really bad customer service from the front staff and food that was okay at best. But I ended up turning around and wanted to see if it was any better vs my last few visits.
The front staff greeted me when I walked in and gave me a tour of their buffet. They were warm and welcoming.
Next is the food, 10 out of 10, such a HUGE difference from last year! It was so delicious and not overly salted at all.
Albert or whoever owns this restaurant, the front staff, cooks, and management have done an incredible job changing this restaurant compared to how it was last year. I will 100% come back to this restaurant.

This was on my bucket list of Instagram eateries to try and it did Not disappoint!!! The service and ambience were very nice and inviting. Tastefully decorated and there is also a parking lot next door. Here we tried the salmon which was amazing! Did not taste fishy, rather came in a delicious pineapple sauce with a side of fresh green salad. Also, had the shrimp mofongo that was super tasty and my favorite morir soñando!! Would definitely return and highly recommend

This place is breath of fresh air for the city of Hackensack. I was totally amazed and impressed with the design, decor, and the clean and neat, and beautiful atmosphere. I was immediately greeted with kindness and a smile and felt so welcomed. Each staff member I encountered was courteous, kind, and professional. The food is absolutely delicious, the presentation is amazing, and the portions are more than enough to satisfy anyone’s appetite. The authentic make up and choices on the menu are spot on and impressive, and the Chef is on point in preparation and final dishes. So, my compliments to the Chef for a job well done!! And my server Adriana was amazing as well. She was kind, polite, and knew each dish on the menu, and was able to answer all of my questions. She was as absolutely wonderful and professional. I hope to have her as my server again because I will be back many more times.

Went here today and it was so bad. Chicken was given to my daughter cold. Tab was $190 for 2 seafood mofongos, 2 chinola juices, 1 water and 1 half chicken with rice beans and salad. Not to mention the taste was so bad.

100/10 and that is NOT a lie. ! Everything from the service with Ingrid was AMAZING . She knew what to recommend and I don’t believe anything on the menu would be a miss. The plates come out fast and HOT . We had the mini shrimp mofongo to start 10/10 . Then we had the steak and onions with the Moro rice and Maduros. WOWOWOWOWOW. So good that we asked to meet the chef to give him his credit because being in Bergen county 27 yrs. Bergen county NEEDED THIS . Oh , we will be back for the buffet!

We visited this restaurant to celebrate a birthday with a large group. Unfortunately, due to space issues, we were split up and seated at different tables, which made the celebration feel a bit disconnected from the start.
Service was slow — I ordered a soda and waited about 15 minutes for it. I ended up having to stand up and go ask for it myself.
We ordered the mixed fried platter to share, which was decent overall. For my main, I had the lechón with mofongo. The mofongo was extremely garlicky — so much so that my tongue started tingling after a few bites, and I couldn’t eat much of it. The lechón initially came out cold, so I sent it back. When it returned, it was hot but unfortunately dry.
To their credit, the staff brought me a completely new plate, and the second dish was much better. The lechón was more flavorful and properly cooked, although the mofongo was still heavily saturated with garlic.
It’s possible that the kitchen was overwhelmed with our large party, but overall, the experience didn’t meet expectations — especially for a special occasion hopefully this was just an off night.
