The food was just as impressive. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. You can tell there is real attention to detail in both presentation and taste.
The service was immaculate. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure our group felt taken care of the entire evening. It truly elevated the experience.
As an added bonus, they validate parking, which made everything even more convenient.
Overall, Albertine Charlotte made my best friend’s birthday unforgettable. I highly recommend it for any special occasion or a memorable night out.
The team here is exceptionally thoughtful: guests receive a text not only confirming their reservation, but also providing clear directions for the three hours of complimentary parking in the adjacent Duke Energy Plaza building.
Both the food and dessert menus are winners. I ordered the stuffed dates, cordero asado, and knafeh cheesecake—all well prepared. While the dates could have been prepared more juicy and softer, the peanut muhammara was pure genius and a delightful enhancement. The cordero would be even more perfect if paired with a side of bread or pita to soak up the savory jus. The cheesecake proved a scrumptious finale—definitely enjoy it with a latte or cappuccino.
I am eager to return and explore more!
Every dish was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. We started with two dips: The whipped feta and the zaalouk. Both delicious. Steak Frites and Rock Crab Mafaldine pasta for dinner. Kataifi Cheesecake for dessert. You can really tell chef puts their heart into every plate. The service was also impeccable—attentive and friendly without being intrusive— gave us warmed lavender and eucalyptus towelettes and wiped our table in between courses. They even took a Polaroid photo of us and left us a note at the end of the evening.
It was an evening we’ll never forget. Thank you to the Albertine staff (Jake, Khad, and Anna especially) for making our milestone celebration so memorable. We’ll definitely be back for many more special occasions!
Unfortunately, the food fell flat for us and every single dish just wasn’t very delicious or was disappointing which at the end of the day is the most important part of the experience for us.
Key examples:
– Razor clams: I was really let down by this dish because I expected actual razor clams. Instead, it was like really small chopped up bits – it felt like you were getting 1/3 of a razor clam in each shell.
– Tuna crudo: Recommended by our server, the sauce that reminded me of spicy chili crisp completely overwhelmed the dish and you could barely make out the tuna.
– Steak frites: Steak was cooked very nicely but the potatoes were basically burnt (you can see how black some of them are) and just too crispy (I love crispy foods but these were like eating crunchy carbon).
– Rock crab malfadine: this was fine; pasta was cooked nicely. The sauce seemed really soupy, opposite of some nicely emulsified clingy sauces you have at an Italian spot. The rock crab didn’t really seem to add much either; we couldn’t really taste it unlike the chilled rock crab dish.
The food was great. The mezze options stole the show. They have so many options and all of the ones we go were so good with the bread they came with. The crispy quail was also wonderful. I was skeptical of the hot honey it came with but it was more of a tangy sauce than sweet. Between the quail and mezze I was full before my entree even came. However, the lamb entree was also very flavorful and delicious.
Our server, Bailey, was wonderful throughout our meal. She explained nearly everything on the menu and there were many things I was not familiar with. Her descriptions helped us pick things we probably would not have selected on our own and they were delicious!
This would be a great place to come with 4-6 people and share a bunch of things, particularly if there are some vegetarians in the group. I’ll definitely be back!
