I really like the carne asada tacos and the wet burrito. They have a very large menu inside, the drive thru menu sucks. They have a large fish meal, shrimp with jalapeños and cream cheese, menudo and alot of desserts and glass Mexicano soda pops. Awesome people and they give jalapeños with carne asada and can be ordered with anything. Super place for a decent priced snack or meal.

Lengua tacos. I was super excited to try Albertano’s version and boy it was a let down. The picture looks better than the taste. Flavorless. Zero flavor. Zilch. Even adding sour cream and tajin to them didn’t help. Very disappointed.

Customer service killed it for me!! Myself and son went to eat at the Mt Rushmore rd location long story short we were the only ones inside the building. We both ordered, him chicken taco n enchilada and myself a beef taco n tostada. What we got was a beef taco n enchilada and that’s it! Had to actually go back and order again, food was amazing yet the service is a huge deterrent for me!

So as you may know Rapid City, SD is starting to get quite a bit of Mexican places to dine at. This is good and a bad thing. Good because of all the choices you will have, bad because you really need to shine to be seen above the other competitors.
Albertano’s is located in a nice populated traffic area which is great. However, with so many other Mexican places to go to, it will be compared to each other. So you really need to stand out above the crowd. Albertano’s has a pleasant enough atmosphere when you show up. The staff is friendly and the service is good. These are the main highlights here at Albertano’s. The food which should be the most important part is hit or miss. Enchiladas are filled with Chicken or Beef getting you plenty to eat. The rice and beans are also done well. Where Albertano’s drops the ball in my opinion are on their sauces and jalapeno bites. The sauces are watered down quite a bit. They are basically colored water and because they are so watered down they don’t really add to the meal. Unfortunately they did this with the guacamole too which made it very underwhelming. Guac is supposed to be chunky in my opinion that adds texture to the meal as well as taste. I don’t want to drink it! The jalapeno bites are bacon wrapped, but beware. They left the seeds in which makes for a very spicy taste which then makes anything else not taste because your mouth is on fire. The food is average and with so much other competition trying to lead the way, there is definitely improvement needed. Of course this depends on what you get and when you get it. Other things on the menu may be much more appealing. It is a good place but not great. Great location, good service, nice atmosphere. Worth one try then go back to the better places that deserve your hard earned cash!

Food was bland, loaded with an obscene amount of raw onion, even for someone who loves onions it’s was a bit much. And a giant clump of “ground beef” in the bottom of my burrito was still pink. I’m not sure what they are using to season their meat but it’s not much. If you want cheap, fast Mexican you’re better off just sticking to Taco John’s or Taco Bell. I will not be going back.

Albertanos!!! I only wish I would have eaten here earlier in my trip, so that I could eat here AGAIN before I have to leave town! Language and Carne Asada tacos were amazing. Hot sauces were fire, FRESH chips and dynamite queso! I ordered for pickup – it was ready fast and the guys at the counter were super friendly. Adding this spot to my list of go to spots when in Rapid City!
