I saw a review that was not very favorable. However, when I dug into it, it was clear that it probably wasn’t fair so I decided to check it out for myself.

I think the place is cute. It’s trendy it’s hip. I sound like an old man, I felt the food was inventive unique creative the flavor profile fantastic highly recommend. I will say the hamburger doesn’t look great when it arrives, but the flavor profile between the cheese the grass fed beef unbelievably juicy, and delicious. Super flavorful served on an English muffin. I couldn’t eat it fast enough. It was so good. If I lived in the area, it would be my regular place.

The restaurant is a little bit hidden. You have to be specific in your search for it. Otherwise you’ll drive right by it. I also noticed they serve Sunday brunch and I bet it’s great. Their cocktail and wine list was both inventive and unique.

This is a very interesting restaurant. It’s a bit cozy and quirky with an amazing menu! My friend is a vegetarian and we had so many wonderful options. The menu was so creative and everything we got was delicious, fresh and wonderfully presented. We were delightfully surprised by this little restaurant attached to a vintage looking Hotel. A secret little gourmet spot in Camden Maine!!

A very cute place with creative and delicious plates. It’s recommended to take 2-3 dishes per person. Expect 40/50$ per person, everything will be delicious and prepared with care. Portions are “European”, not American which is great if you’re looking to fill a moderate appetite.

Maggie and Jonny are the owners of this wonderful little eclectic bistro, and they are absolutely fantastic hosts. They go out of their way to engage and inform, and they couldn’t be warmer or friendlier. Their dishes are all unique, and they’re eager to describe their amazing creations. The menu changes daily, although they do feature a few constants, such as their special burger, which features the tastiest meat I’ve ever experienced in a hamburger. Phenomenal, and cooked to perfection. The ambiance here is warm and welcoming, and quite beautiful. So many charming personal touches.

Make a point of visiting this place. They deserve your business. We need places like this to survive and prosper.

Just finished a wonderful dining experience at Albatross in Camden. This quaint, eclectic establishment served some amazing small plate dishes made with fresh ingredients. My wife and I enjoyed Orange Cream Sodas and started our meal with Focaccia Bread served with Ramp Butter and a Kale Ceasar Salad. Both were quite good. Then we shared their famous Caldwell Farms Burger and their special of the day, Wild Mushroom Ravioli with a Rabbit Ragu. We then finished our meal with the African Malva Cake topped with Apple Sorbet. Everything was delicious and I highly recommend a visit while in the Camden area.

Albatross is easy to miss because it’s not visible from the street or on the water, but if you are a foodie, the quality of what they are doing shouldn’t be missed when visiting Camden. I’m going to post some pics because I don’t have time now to write a review that does them justice. But to sum up, it’s an eclectic, slightly New Orleans inspired, farm-to-table ish spot that you would not expect to find in Camden.

I honestly can’t understand why this gem isn’t getting more attention. We have eaten there three times, and each time, the food has been out of this world. It’s shocking that such a small, unassuming place knocks it out of the park in terms of bread (every single bread on the menu is FANTASTIC–last time we went, our table got one of each!), entrees, drinks AND baked desserts. If you want a stellar meal in a low-key atmosphere, you must go to Albatross. I sort of don’t want the secret to get out, because I want to always be able to get a table, but this place should be packed every day.

If looking for a mixed unique international dishes this is the place to go. The chef is willing to share with you the ingredients and recipe. It’s not for someone who enjoys the value and common foods.

From the outside, you wouldn’t expect the diverse and exquisite menu. Multi cultural mini plates, all meticulously thought and comes out wonderfully. Couldn’t recommend more! Plus family owned!!
