This fish and chips spot has been around for over 20 years. It used to be part of the H Salt Fish & Chips chain, but later rebranded as Alaskan Fish & Chips, same great taste, just a new name.
I stumbled upon this place while pulling off the 405 for gas. Saw it tucked behind the gas station, checked the reviews, and decided to give it a try.
The restaurant itself is pretty simple but came dinnertime, there was a steady stream of people picking up takeout and delivery orders.
We decided to dine in and noticed that the whole place was run by just two guys (probably the owners), one handling orders and the other in the kitchen. Both were super friendly!
The menu is all about fried food, freshly made to order, so expect a bit of a wait if it’s busy. The batter is light and super crispy (not the thick, doughy kind), and it pairs perfectly with their tartar sauce. They also have a handwritten “Today’s Special” board with great deals. Prices are very reasonable. If you love fried food and find yourself in Westminster area, this spot is worth checking out.

Have come a few times now and their fish is really good. Always fried fresh. Their chips are solid standard for fish & chips joint and also always fresh! I liked their fried shrimp as well. Cute little spot, friendly folks running the place. definitely recommend and will come back again!

On a business trip trying to figure out dinner my husband informed me there may still be an H Salt open in the area. Much to my delight he was right! The shop was exactly how I remembered them from my childhood and the food was just as delicious! The owners were really nice. Don’t judge it by the area just go and get your geub on. You will not regret it.

Have yet to try everything on the menu; however, the fish and scallops are perhaps our favorite items so far.
Of both times I’ve had it, the batter was fresh and you can tell the oil was not old! Golden and crispy as it should be.

Cooked to order. Currently open until 8 pm for dine in and take out. Fish & Chips were good. Reasonably priced, starts around $8 Can get onions, mushrooms, zucchini and shrimp. Different combinations available.

Finding one of these restaurants can be difficult. However, if you do and your on a budget like me, you may share my thought that it’s as pricey as you remember. But, again if like me, you say screw the budget and order up some tasty seafood deep fried to the perfect crispness. On to savor the flakey white fish that melts in your mouth. I had driven by a few times and finally stopped and ordered. It’s small, appeared clean and has a few tables for eating there but I opted to take it home. Including me, there were four others ordering yet the staff handled it beautifully. And staff that night was two people only, the woman taking & assisting filling orders and the cook. They deserve Job Well Done kudos! My order was delicious. I ordered a combo with scallops and shrimp. I was bummed to be informed their combos didn’t include a drink. I would have to purchase it separately. They offered drink in cans, bottles etc., but I decided I’d have something at home. Once there, I opened up my food and wow, just as I remembered! The scallops were my favorite. Not overdone, just sweet and tender. I recommend this H. Salt and hope they continue with much business.

Greatest fish, SHRIMP, & chips ever. Unbeatable prices for quantity. Same staff & clean restaurant just like when I was a youngster. Grew up in this area, glad this place is still in business. They deliver, you can dine in, or call ahead & have take out. I believe their new name is The Alaskan Fish & Chips.
