They waiters were very kind and on top of their game. The starter was tasty as well.
We got chicken malai kabob as appetizer, it was very tasty and soft. We also got the butter chicken, chicken salamar and the lentil soup. You can pick your spice levels which was very helpful! Everything was so tasty and we had so much left over, we would definitely recommend everything we got!!!
If we’re in the area again we’ll definitely be coming back!!!
One of the biggest perks is that it is BYOB, and not the restrictive kind. You can bring your favorite bottles of wine, yes as many as you want, crack them open with your crew, and settle into what might be the most comforting and welcoming atmosphere anywhere uptown. It is the perfect Friday night spot, warm, intimate, lively, and completely unpretentious.
The hospitality alone deserves its own paragraph. The host, the owner, and the staff made us feel like honored guests in their home. I mentioned loving spice and without hesitation they brought over fresh green peppers, onions, and everything I needed to dial things up just right. Their kindness and attentiveness transformed the whole experience into something genuinely memorable.
And the food is absolutely incredible.
The naan was truly phenomenal, soft, fresh, and addictive.
The paneer and masala dishes were rich and deeply flavorful.
The vindaloo had that perfect punch.
And the biryani was fragrant, layered, and top notch.
Alachi Masala is not just a restaurant. It is the kind of place where you lose track of time because you are laughing with friends, sipping wine you brought yourself, and savoring dish after dish that hits perfectly.
If you are on the Upper West Side, or anywhere in NYC, gather your friends, bring a few bottles, and go. Friday night at Alachi Masala might become your new favorite ritual.
