The fish tacos were amazing. I’m usually not a fan of ahi tuna, but this was perfectly prepared. Light, fresh, filling, and it tasted wonderful.
There’s something about sitting at a picnic bench, hearing the waves in the background while eating fresh fish, that captures what Hawaii — and Kauai in particular — is all about. It feels less like a meal and more like a culinary expression of the island itself.

Al Pastor came recommended to us in a few conversations with other travelers, so we had to check it out. Fish tacos and garlic shrimp tacos were amazing and fresh. Great price for the portions. My only advice – go early before they sell out and they are closed on Monday.

Yummy fresh caught fish tacos! Also has chicken or pork. By a lot of other food trucks we went on a weekday and had plenty of parking steps from a cute beach but that beach is not safe for swimming. To many currents but you could cool your feet.

Fresh, hot & friendly service! Fish tacos were nice as came with side of rice, beans & small dollop of guacamole. The sauce was nice but needed another kick – maybe a salsa of some sort. Good portions!

Seriously the best tacos on the island. They offer fresh fish ones as well. When I went it was tuna. I had the Al Pastor tacos they were amazing topped with grilled pineapple. The portions are huge and you won’t leave hungry. There is plenty of shaded seating. Give this place a try. You’ll love the fresh ingredients. It’s packed full of flavor.

4 out of 5 stars – Write a great review for AL PASTOR food truck in Kauai. We had the fresh fish tacos (Mahimahi) and the fish burrito. Every thing was really good but there wasn’t anything that we had that was extra special so that’s the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars. If the had something that was real creative or just so great I kept thinking about it I would have given it 5 stars.

Outside dining. This food truck is a must try. Pastor is a particular way of cooking meat, and Al Pastor Tacos does this in an extremely wonderful way.
Let’s face it, Hawaii is not a cheap place to eat or live. The quality of food is prepared at a very high level. The folks here have perfected their craft and deliver tasty treats.
A must try, if you are visiting. A continued taste for Taco Tuesday. Tell them you are giving them a try because of a SPED teacher who lives nearby.

How can I provide an honest and well-balanced review without sounding completely ignorant? It is a taco food truck on Kauai- it is pretty decent considering its location and target market- tourists. The fish tacos were missing flavor, steak tacos lacked “taconess” and let’s just say rice and beans were average at best. The lady at the front was extremely friendly and polite though!

Nice friendly people. Pretty good tacos. The fish was mahi and cooked decently. Especially for the price was pretty good. Cause most places that’s just the pride for two tacos. Here you also got beans and rice and a lil guacamole. I’d definitely go back & recommend.

Good tasting fresh fish tacos at good prices for the proportions given! Small complaint, wish it was a bit more spicier to my liking, had there been some hot sauces in the side this would be a five star rating easily. Worth a try if you’re in the vicinity.
