That said, the service and atmosphere were great, staff was friendly and the space felt welcoming. I’d definitely come back, but I hope they switch to a separate container for the sauce next time!
I tried the new Mexican place twice for their steak bowls. The first time, they said they only had one serving of steak left, so one of us had to choose another meat—which we didn’t like. They also gave us tortilla chips with the bowl and said they were included.
When we went back the second time, they were out of Spanish rice, avocado sauce, beans—basically everything that normally comes in the bowl. The steak was terrible on both visits. Every piece was chewy and full of cartilage; we ended up spitting it all out. Even our son tried it and had the same experience. They definitely switched the meat to something cheaper than what the gyro place used to use (it used to be flank).
This time they also didn’t give us chips. When I asked, they said chips are now made to order and no longer included. So not only did they not have essential ingredients, they also couldn’t give us a simple bag of chips.
What a shame. Poor management, poor service, and an overall horrible experience. There are plenty of better Mexican options around. Not worth returning when the food is both unenjoyable and often unavailable.
