What really stood out was the hospitality. The staff were extremely nice, attentive, and genuinely caring, which made the visit feel warm and welcoming. The environment is inviting and well-suited for groups of all sizes, from small gatherings to large parties.
Even though the BBQ itself was just okay, the great service and atmosphere make Al Mueed BBQ a solid choice for an enjoyable outing, especially if you’re looking for a comfortable, group-friendly place to relax and share a meal.
Beef Siikh kabob was total failure and I don’t understand why owner want to keep it on menu in its current shape , either they should make it like other BBQ items or take it off , as it spoil the fun . Mint lemonade was not mint lemonade but taste like papaya. Don’t take it and get regular lemonade.
Atmosphere was pure Karachi and crowded but we were lucky to get table for 4 immediately, other wise large party has to wait .
I would have given 5 star if beef sikah kaboob was not such a disappointment. But I will highly recommend this place for BBQ items minus beef Sikh kaboob.
This review is a long time coming, and I honestly apologize for taking so long to write it. I’m writing this not just for myself, but on behalf of at least 15 other people I know. I’ve personally eaten at Al-Mueed well over 10–15 times since they opened last year in 2025, so this review comes from a lot of repeat visits, not just one good experience.
Al-Mueed is not just one of the best Pakistani or Karachi-style barbecue spots. It is genuinely one of the best restaurants and best food you will eat in Texas, hands down. Period. And on top of that, it’s very reasonably priced for the quality you’re getting.
Karachi-style Pakistani barbecue is one of the best cuisines in the world, and Al-Mueed executes it perfectly. We are extremely lucky to have a place like this in Texas, let alone in Plano/Murphy.
The restaurant is newer, clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The staff is always kind. Yes, it gets very busy on weekends, but that’s only because it’s that good. Plan accordingly. Even when busy, the food comes out quickly and you can tell real care goes into it.
The current online rating does not reflect reality. This place deserves a 4.9+ rating with thousands of reviews.
I’ve had Pakistani BBQ all over the U.S., and this is easily the best Pakistani barbecue I’ve had anywhere in the country. It is better than BK Khan, without question. The seasoning is always perfect, the meat is cooked beautifully, and whoever runs the grill clearly knows what they’re doing.
Top-tier items I can vouch for every single time:
• Chicken tikka leg quarter
• Chicken tikka breast
• Chicken seekh kebabs
• Beef seekh kebabs
All of these are consistently elite.
The setup is mostly self-serve, which works well. The raita is elite. You can clearly taste the cumin, it’s perfectly salty, properly seasoned, and not diluted at all. This raita is also what sets Al-Mueed apart, and you absolutely need it with Karachi BBQ.
That said, they have consistently skimmed on raita for to-go orders, and this needs to be fixed ASAP. This is honestly unacceptable for this style of food. There should be a clear option to add extra raita on Uber Eats or to-go orders, even if it costs extra. I will happily pay for it. Just don’t skip it.
The naan is good, not amazing, but still solid. The halwa is pretty good. Rasmalai is good too, though slightly pricey. They also have doodh patti chai, which is delicious, along with house-made drinks and Pepsi Zero.
Bathrooms are always clean. Parking can be tight during peak hours but is manageable.
Overall, this is my family’s favorite restaurant in all of Texas. It’s an insane value, an absolute gem in the U.S., and Al-Mueed deserves all the success in the world.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was my second visit to Al-Mueed BBQ, and once again, the experience reaffirmed my trust in honest food and authentic flavor.
The drive from Arlington to Plano takes nearly an hour, but this visit was not a casual dining decision. It was a test of confidence. A friend suggested Al-Mueed based solely on strong Google reviews. Even he was visiting for the first time and placed a bet that if the food did not meet expectations, he would host us again elsewhere.
We ordered chicken tikka and Behari kebabs. It was late in the evening, yet when the food arrived, it spoke for itself. This is the kind of barbecue where flavor does not need explanation. It simply proves its worth.
Unlike some places in Dallas that rely on borrowed or misleading names, Al-Mueed BBQ has built its reputation on its own identity. No hype, no shortcuts. Just consistency, quality, and honesty. On my second visit, the restaurant was completely packed. This was not marketing noise. This was the crowd that quality naturally attracts.
During our visit, a member of the management, Shahbaz Moeen, approached us with genuine warmth and respect. What stood out was that the same level of attention was given to every guest. That speaks to training and values, not marketing.
I am extremely selective when it comes to food. When something meets my standards, I say so openly. When it does not, I write the truth just as clearly. This review is fully paid for, with receipts available, as I do not believe in free meals for favorable reviews.
In my honest assessment, Al-Mueed BBQ is the number one destination for barbecue in Dallas. I made the one-hour drive again for a reason, and the quality did not disappoint.
Highly recommended.
The malai boti was super soft and creamy, full of flavor in every bite. The behari boti had that perfect smoky spice that melts in your mouth. Both the chicken kabab and beef kabab were juicy, well-seasoned, and grilled just right.
The puri naan was fresh, fluffy, and paired perfectly with everything. The halwa was warm, sweet, and comforting — a perfect traditional finish.
And the highlight at the end? Doodh pati! Rich, kadak, and aromatic — the kind of chai that just completes the whole meal and hits the spot.
Amazing taste, great quality, and definitely worth trying. Highly recommended! ✅ ️☕
Service was very good. Every single employee we interacted with was super friendly and they kept checking up on us. I loved the ambiance was very nice and clean. You order at the counter and they give you a pager that buzzes when your food is ready. Also they have separate area for raita and chutney with all the utensils.
Food was very good. It lived up to the hype. Other than BK khan this is the only good Pakistani bbq restaurant in the dfw area. We ordered the beef seekh kabab, chicken tikkah, behari boti, and naan, garlic naan, puri paratha & mango lassi. Chicken tikka and malai boti were good definitely worth a try. Beef seekh kabab was very good
AMBIANCE: we went Sunday evening it was packed. The cashier said for us find a table and then come order. It took us about 10 minutes to get a table. SERVICE: when food was ordered they said it takes 20 minutes. It was ready in 15 minutes.
I would definitely recommend checking this place out with your family!
