Delicious food, and most important is it is all authentic iraqi food. Staff is super friendly and everything is fresh. We have been returning customers for years, this is definitely a great choice

I had such a beautiful experience at Almazaq Restaurant in Paterson! From the moment we walked in, the service was incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive. You truly feel like family there.
We ordered a variety of dishes and every single one was delicious and full of authentic Iraqi flavor. The falafel was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside, the kuba was rich and flavorful, and the dulma was seasoned to perfection. The Guss (Iraqi shawarma) was juicy and packed with flavor, the chicken tikka was tender and perfectly grilled, and the mix grill was generous and beautifully prepared.
We also ordered the fresh mint lemon drink, and it was so refreshing — the perfect balance of sweet and tangy!
To make the experience even more special, they surprised us with complimentary sweets — Kahi and Gemer, a traditional Iraqi dessert that was absolutely amazing. Such a thoughtful and generous touch!
Everything from the food to the hospitality was outstanding. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic Iraqi cuisine and exceptional service in Paterson. We will definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We drove from Manhattan to this location in the snow and felt more than glad to have discovered this amazing gem! This is seemingly a family-owned restaurant of beautifully well-raised Iraqis who prepare authentic Iraqi food and deliver the best Iraq-like experience in the Tristate area. The food was great and the Iraqi tea was superb. So much so, that we’re attempting to replicate the experience at home just a day later… I wish they had a branch closer to the City, we’ll definitely be back for more soon—thank you for a wonderful experience! All the best to you and your family:)

came here a few days ago while visiting family in jersey. i was told to come grab some delicious bites by an iraqi friend of mine who dines here when visiting and he’s from upstate new york. i’ve been wanting to visit for so long but never got the opportunity to. finally i got the opportunity to go with two of my cousins one who is super open to trying new cuisine. i am middle eastern and never had iraqi food before so i was super excited! we started with the eggplant salad which was really good! we also loved the two different kinds of bread they offered and the mixed veggies they serve to have before the meal. i ordered the iraqi kebab which was delicious with rice, my one cousin got the ouzi which was delicious and tender and falling up the bone, the rice was fantastic.my other cousin got the tandoori chicken which was so good too! i mostly recommend all to dine here if they never been there and i surely would love to go back whenever i visit again and have a chance. the server was soo nice and sweet i adored her, i just didn’t like that it was so humid outside that the indoors was humid too. i was sweating very bad while dining so it made the experience annoying. i noticed they had an AC unit but you couldn’t feel it through the restaurant only when we stood up from our table is when you can. thankfully the delicious food distracted us a little from the heat.

We met friends here for lunch and tried everything from the breakfast menu, plus a couple of soups – absolutely delightful! Worth the trip off the beaten path, highly recommend.

Amazing food. I did a take out, ordered Iraqi Kabab with bread and Lentil soup.
The kababs were so juicy, soft and absolutely delicious. I haven’t eaten something so good in a long time. The lentil soup was simple but very tasty. The bread that came with the soup looked so fresh and soft.
There were some pickled veggies that came with it and they were to die for.
I just happened to stumble on this place while I was around there and I will definitely go back for trying the other things on their menu.

I’m very disappointed with my meal at Almazaq Al Arby. The undercooked, doughy bread was a major problem, and the kebab was nothing special – I’ve had much better at other Middle Eastern restaurants in
the area. The service was also underwhelming. While a friendly family member took our order, the chef or someone from the kitchen brought out the plates, which I didn’t think was very professional. It’s surprising, especially considering how many other fantastic Middle Eastern restaurants are nearby. This experience was definitely not worth it, and I won’t be returning.

Eat the World NYC review:
A recent new opening a few blocks over from Main Street in Paterson is introducing Iraqi breads and cuisine to the area. Get tea service served on a golden plate before rounds of Iraqi soups and kebabs. Each bite is better than the rest, and both the food and friendly atmosphere keep you from wanting to leave. We are big fans of this new place, and hope you can all find your way out there for a meal soon.

This is an unbelievable one of a kind family owned restaurant!!! The mom is the chef and she make ALL the food fresh every day. The flat bread pita is backed once you order! Very special authentic traditional Iraqi food. I recommended to all my family and friends.

Even though it was only my husband and I’s second time here, he said this is my new favorite restaurant! The food is so delicious and fresh, we left really full and already wanting to go back! Even simple dishes like stewed tomatoes and eggplant salad were so mouthwatering, I don’t know how they elevate such simple ingredients! No matter what you order, you won’t be disappointed!
