Food was absolutely delicious. I asked my waitress what she liked between two options and she said the Barbacoa was her favorite and it did not disappoint. The juice from the Barbacoa mixed into the rice and beans and it tastes great. The salsa was mild to spicy and given the area that makes sense.
I like that they have American and Mexican breakfast options and liked having French toast for my “dessert.”
If you’re in the area or want Mexican food, try this place out.
The only downside is that the road leading up to this place is bumpy with potholes and it’s worth it to try the food.

We needed to eat, getting hangry, and we had never been to the Al Fuego, even though it is close to home. What the heck, let’s try it.
The kid behind the bar was obviously new. It didn’t look like he had much training. He made my wife’s drink wrong, and he didn’t give us silverware, but no big deal.
The manager(or someone acting like a manager) was opening bottles of beer with the knife he was using to cut the limes, with the caps landing on the floor, and he would pull a lime from the container, put it back in, then reach back in and get another lime out without wearing gloves. He would then wipe his hands on his pants. We are not fancy or queasy people, but it was a little third-world for me.
The food was good with large portions. I had steak fajitas and my wife had a steak quesadilla. The Dos Equis was cold and fresh.
Overall, for the price, just OK.

FAMILY OWNED
We ordered hamburgers, french fries, and onion rings. The produce on the burgers …pickles, onion, lettuce, tomatoes was exceptionally fresh. The cheese was delicious! It was the most tasty burgers we’ve ever eaten. The fries are out of this world and the onion rings topped it.! You could tell this was not prepackaged meats. It was very festive very colorful. The service was great. The burger was cooked to specifications. Nothing was returned.
Steve took our order with such genuine pleasure. They’ll cook your burger any way you like. I ordered mine well done, and it was cooked to perfection!
Jason Helped us with a few things and he was very pleasant to talk to. Steve and Jason were great. Made us feel very welcomed and you can tell they care about their establishment.
I can’t say enough good things!
There is authentic art on the walls That the owner took himself. It’s amazing.
There’s glass dividers to ensure privacy.
They have television on with sports.
Outside seating/dining weather permitting
The restrooms were exceptionally clean and the ladies restroom had a baby changing station.
Handicap accessible handicap parking easy to get to. It’s a good old-fashioned family restaurant where they seat you and hand you a menu. Yes!
This is no fast food joint!
This place serves actual beef, 100% real french fries and 100% real onion rings.
They are known for their Mexican food and they serve breakfast all day long.
It’s located near the lake. We happen upon this during our travels. We are going to go out of our way to come back, the food is out of this world. Everything was clean. The service was great the food exceptional. The seats are padded and very comfortable, plenty of room.
Looks like a good place to plan a birthday party or get together with friends. WOW hats off to the chef. Yes, they provide take-home boxes too. 🙂

Randomly stopped here right off the main road for some lunch and had a great experience! The food was fresh, flavorful and filling! There appears to be both Mexican and American options. The last photo reveals what was left on our plates that we took for later. Our waiter was kind and attentive. Go check them out!

Several of the menu items are not typically found on Mexican restaurant menus but seem authentic and prepared well. The restaurant has pleasant decor and restrooms clean. Absolutely wonderful breakfast and lunch place after several failed attempts to find the spot. Such friendly hosting, very popular, we loved the Mexican breakfasts, and the burger was popular with our son. Cooked really well! Would definitely recommend and wish we had come for dinner too. Chips and salsa upon arrival (hot salsa is actually spicy!), attentive service, delicious (& generous) dishes. Meatless chorizo is DELICIOUS and apparently available for all dishes. Large horchata is LARGE (20? oz). Rice and beans taste like they do NOT just come out of a can.

While on shift I stopped to place an order to go. I was prewarmed it was going to be 20mins wait. Which was okay and I agreed to. I waited around 15mins before I had to go due to a work call and informed them I would be back.
Once I arrived I expected my order to be done and completed however it was not ever made and order was lost.
Needless to say 30$ for a large cheese dip and burrito meal would not have been worth the hassle. However, these workers threw in extra dip, and a drink to make up for the error.
I will definitely return again, for more food since the order was made properly, sizing is super large, and I still was able to receive it hot

My husband and I found this beautiful restaurant when we visited New Buffalo. It’s tucked in next to the Dollar General. Cheerful Music was playing when we went in and we had our choice of seats. I had a bacon cheese omelet and coffee. My husband had a Denver omelet and coffee. Toast was included and hash browns. The portions were huge. The food was very delicious. They have a full menu of Greek and Mexican foods. If I go back I’ll try some of the dinner menu which had many choices. Prices were reasonable. We paid about 30 dollars total plus tip. This is a large restaurant and I’m sure it gets very crowded in the summer months. We were almost the only ones there at nine o’clock on a Monday morning.
