Our experience at Al Caratello was amazing! It was our first day in Paris and we stumbled upon it in Montmartre. The owner and staff were extremely welcoming and every single item we ordered was delicious. Had a cozy vibe and had very cute aesthetics. My favorite was the linguine clam pasta and be sure to get the panna cotta!

A truly delightful experience. The pasta is genuinely one of the best we had. They have a sister restaurant serving pizza directly opposite and we are excited to return to try. Owner and waitress were very lovely as well. Would highly recommend you making a stop here.

Super cute spot off the busy road of Abbesses. A very friendly staff that greeted us kindly even though we arrived at 10pm on a Monday night. The food is good but not great. My bolognese was a little too sweet for my taste and the pasta was not al dente. The rucola and mozzarella salad was good and my partner enjoyed his seafood pasta. Good Italian wine! This place is a great part of the neighborhood.

We were blown away by this little restaurant. We were greeted very well from the moment we walked in and the food is one of the best Italian places we’ve ever eaten at. We will definitely recommend this to all of our family and friends and most definitely be revisiting this restaurant.

So, picture this: we’re in Paris — the land of baguettes, escargot, and people who look personally offended when you ask for butter. Naturally, we decided to have… Italian food. And let me tell you, it was the best decision we’ve ever made that didn’t involve a croissant.
We started with the bruschetta, which was so fresh and flavorful I’m convinced someone’s nonna was hiding in the kitchen whispering culinary secrets to the tomatoes. Perfectly crisp bread, olive oil smoother than a jazz playlist, and tomatoes that probably had better skincare routines than I do.
Then came the mains. My dining partner had the gnocchi — soft little clouds of potato heaven that made us question every gnocchi we’ve ever eaten before. And I went for the special: mushroom ravioli in a cream sauce so divine I briefly considered baptizing myself in it. If this sauce were a person, I’d marry it. If it were a religion, I’d convert.
Just when we thought we couldn’t handle another bite, the tiramisu arrived. And honestly? I think it winked at me. It was the perfect balance of coffee, cocoa, and self-respect slowly slipping away as I realized I’d never find another dessert this good again.
Al Caratelo isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience. The kind that makes you question your life choices and wonder why you ever wasted calories anywhere else. The service? Delightful. The atmosphere? Cozy but not cramped. The food? Life-changing.
In summary:
Paris may be known for French cuisine, but the best meal of my life came from an Italian kitchen tucked between bistros that are probably still confused about what just happened.
11/10. Michelin stars? No. Michelin galaxies.
I’d sell my luggage and walk home just to eat here again.

Lasagne took me OUT oh my god, so good. Mussels, bruschetta and arrabbiata were also excellent. Cosmopolitan cocktail was delicious and strong. Staff are lovely too. Merci !

Wow! A must visit in Paris! We pre-booked on the same day, definitely recommended as very small restaurant. Staff were very welcoming especially the very friendly manager who shared his life story with us. Food was amazing – both of us had the seafood pasta and there was a huge amount of seafood that I have never seen before in any pasta dish ever. Then tiramisu for dessert which was lovely. All together very reasonably priced for delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. Even treated to free limoncello shots on leaving! Would definitely recommend.

An absolute hidden gem in Paris. We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and couldn’t have been happier. The food was outstanding, with hearty portions and incredible flavor. What truly sets this place apart is the owner—so welcoming and attentive, making every guest feel genuinely cared for. We’ll absolutely be back on our next visit to Paris.

What a great find! The service was really good and the wait staff all flit between the tables to ensure you’re being attended too.
The menu was very large but the food was excellent. Very hearty portions, good quality ingredients and the flavour was delicious. We had the seafood linguini and the ravioli and we think it’s been our best meal in Paris. Drinks, starter, mains and dessert came in under 80 euros for two.
Try reserve a table online- it was really quick to do and was needed as we went on a Tuesday evening and it was packed. Although I did see them manage to accommodate a few walk-ins too.
P.s Order the Tiramisu.

We went twice in two weeks. Everything on the menu was great. Each dish was flavorful. We tried at least 5 different dishes. And the tiramisu was lovely. I would highly recommend Al Caratello.
