Best Pasta I know of in Dublin
Have to say
Nice Atmosphere with very friendly staff and quality @ a reasonable price
Have found it great for all occasions
Meal one on-route home or Date Night and Gathers
Also Ideally located with many great bars nearby for a night out
To make matters worse, I was only a 5 minute walk from the restaurant. I ordered a delivery because I was working from home and needed the extra time (vs sitting in the restaurant), assuming that it would arrive quickly enough given the short distance. I may as well have been in Belfast given how long it took to arrive.
Eventually, I just went to the restaurant myself to pick up the food. I had already offered to do this 2x times over the past 2 hours, but for some reason they insisted that the driver was ‘nearly there’ and so I shouldn’t come. Maybe they were just having a bad night, but the sheer lack of integrity is startling. When I arrived in the restaurant, the proposed solution from the manager was 2 cans of san pellegrino and a few euro coins dumped in the takeaway bag. I asked for a full refund, and they tried to negotiate a 50% refund. I explained to them that I would just do a chargeback instead and get 100%, because in no world would I want to pay 60 euros for some cold pizzas and starters that came out of the oven 2.5 hours ago. The wait time alone should have been enough to justify a refund, let alone the food.
Maybe this is a nice restaurant to eat in, but I will never be ordering from them again and am still baffled at how much of an ordeal could be made out of an evening meal. This was my first experience of them and I was so shocked at their modus operandi that I was almost amused.
EDIT following the owner’s reply – this is complete nonsense, I told them the correct address, and they had multiple opportunities to rectify this issue, since every 30 mins I rang them up to confirm what was going on. There is no excuse for this, even the duplicity of this reply shows their approach to dealing with customers – and it also does not explain how the delivery could possibly have arrived 2.5 hours late! They would never accept an order for such distance since the delivery economics do not make sense. What a shambles.
My son loved his lasagna and we all enjoyed our dishes from starter to main. Unfortunately, we didn’t have place for dessert but next time we will try some for sure.
The place is also huge. It does looks tiny from outside but it’s massive.
We didn’t get pizza either but we saw the one our neighbor table got and wow, it does make me want pizza right now.
The wine was lovely, they also have non alcoholic beer (for my pregnant wife) and milk for the little man.
The atmosphere was great. Really good Italian songs and some Italian version of very famous songs in Spanish.
The staff was also great. Very fast and friendly. It was indeed a great experience and I’m looking forward to go back but next time, just with my wife for a romantic dinner. It’s the perfect place to do so.
The carbonara were a bit too oily but otherwise perfectly cooked, tasty and in a generous portion.
Calzone has been a pleasant surprise; the inside was tasty and fresh, the outside crispy and soft. I would have appreciated a bit more tomato sauce but other than that it was very good.
The Pastorella pizza had a well balanced taste, the dough was fresh and relatively light. Burrata had a delicate taste that went well with mortadella.
Affogato and tiramisu were fair, nothing outstanding.
Excellent service on a busy day, great staff. We had great wine and Prosecco with our dinner. Excellent pasta and sauces. No drama for gluten free menu, the main menu is easily understood and gluten free pasta available for a small extra. Delicious food and we will eat here again
Dessert- I’d recommend the Cannoli (the best ever)
We had bruschetta, the misto fritto for our starters . Then lasagne and pasta al Salmone as our mains and then tiramisu and brownie with ice-cream for dessert.
I was so impressed with the portion sizes. But my bruschetta was not great at all, the tomatoes had no taste with no garlic or oil, it was a very plain bruschetta.
