Ordered a variety of dishes to get an overview and it was amazing. Bread was so perfect. You can buy a loaf at their store next door. Beef stroganoff was delicious. Served with rice. Can be served with mashed potatoes. The lamb shanks are cooked 7 hrs! So tender, it fell off the bone. Ceramic, burek and smelt …so good!

I’ve heard this restaurant is delicious, but hadn’t visited til today. I came in knowing absolutely nothing, and was so welcomed! The customers are all like old friends speaking their first language who seem to see each other every weekend; the TVs are showing soccer and commercials in Bosnian(?). It warms my heart to have a little piece of Europe in GR.
I ordered a latte and a piece of baklava for here (I already ate at home) and a Greek Salad for take-away. The latte was made to perfection with the foam coming to tall peaks! The baklava was a HUGE triangle filled with a lot of nuts – more than I usually see – drenched in delicious honey and even topped with fresh crumbled nuts.
This place put me in such a good mood, reminding me to take life a little slower and treasure time with others with a mean latte and dessert. Can’t wait to have the salad for dinner!

Al-Bos was recommended by a friend and our family dined in and had a cheese and a perfectly seasoned meat burek both of which had a perfectly golden and crisp outside pastry, a cevapi with juicy grilled sausages in a
Very flavorful bread with a side of ajvar, a sarma, and a grilled trout. everything was very delicious and price was very reasonable. Very authentic Bosnian food! Batsi

Al Bos is absolutely fantastic! What an awesome hidden gem. They have one of the best beef stroganoffs I’ve ever had in my life. The ambiance is great too and the staff are really nice and attentive. This place will definitely become a regular for me.

Bosnian food at its best. Everything tasted fresh. Great service and great atmosphere. As an added bonus, a small market next door for hard to find Eastern European ingredients/ snacks!

I haven’t even finished the meal and I am posting this five star review. This is the most succulent meat I have ever tasted. What an amazing little restaurant, and the service was so incredibly friendly. I am visiting here from out of town and I will be sure to return here on subsequent trips.

Excellent! Had the beef burek, feta, and lamb shank. The lamb was fall of the bone and so good. Maybe the best I’ve ever had. The baklava is homemade too, amazing. Come in and ask for Batsi, he’s a good dude and will introduce to some of the best food in the city.

I’ve traveled all over North America and can honestly say Al-Bos is one of the best food experiences I’ve had—anywhere.
I had the cheese and spinach burek, which was fresh, flaky, and packed with flavor. Then came a lamb special (not even on the menu!) that was so tender and well-seasoned I couldn’t stop eating. Everything tasted like it was made with care and tradition.
What really made the night, though, was Batsi—my bartender and server. One of the kindest people I’ve ever met, and somehow even more impressive in person. He speaks six languages and made me feel totally at home.
Al-Bos is the kind of spot you tell your friends about and bring them back to. Absolutely worth the visit.

Al-Bo’s is a wonderful restaurant less than 15 minutes from the Grand Rapids Airport. We ordered Burek with cheese (crispy philo dough with tangy feta and ricotta cheese) and chicken raznjići (most tender kabob) off the regular menu. There was also a lamb shank special that is easily the best lamb I have ever had, having spent 7 hours roasting away. The garlic cloves were so tender, we spread them on bread like jam. Excellent meal, lovely service, and there is a bakery as well!
