My husband and I had such a great lunch at Akoko enjoying the short menu. We loved starting with the hand-washing ceremony – it was such a thoughtful touch. Every course was delicious and beautifully presented, and the mango rum cocktail might be my new favourite drink! The team were warm and accommodating throughout. We’d happily come back to try the full tasting menu.

Very special lunch. Our first fine dining experience of African food. Very good pairing too, we tried got one wine pairing and one non alcoholic one. Both winners! A lot of ingredients we never tasted before and growing level of spice kept the journey interesting. Nice service especially the sommelier he was great fun without being intrusive.

Valentine’s lunch at Akoko was absolutely exceptional. My partner and I chose the short menus (pescatarian + standard) and every course was beautifully presented and packed with flavour.

From the ojojo and baked oyster to the sea bream and sinasir. Special OMG moment for the jollof rice; genuinely unforgettable.

The drinks were perfectly crafted, the ambience was warm, elegant and intimate, and the service was outstanding.

Huge shout-out to Elisa, who was amazing, attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel so welcome.

An incredible experience all round. We’ll definitely be back.

Highly recommended.

One of the finest culinary experiences we have ever had. Truly exceptional. The food was outstanding from start to finish. I arrived slightly dubious, albeit open-minded, and left already planning our return.

I had long been hesitant to try caviar, having always associated it with an overpowering fishiness. I could not have been more mistaken. It was exquisite and easily one of the highlights of the evening. I was equally reluctant about the tongue, yet it proved to be a beautifully executed and memorable dish. In truth, selecting a favourite course would be impossible. Each dish surpassed the last, both in creativity and flavour, and left us wanting more. Thankfully, we were able to enjoy a second serving of the caviar.

The restaurant strikes that rare balance between innovation and refinement. The wine pairing was thoughtfully curated, delivered with impressive knowledge and genuine enthusiasm. Service throughout was polished, attentive and seamless.

When a restaurant achieves this level of cohesion, with cuisine, atmosphere, wine and service all in harmony, the result is unforgettable. Our sincere thanks for an extraordinary evening.

We had a truly fantastic meal at Akoko this week. The restaurant space itself is beautiful and the open kitchen is a lovely touch. The service was excellent – professional, friendly, and perfectly matched to our energy. I also enjoyed that we spoke with multiple members of the team over the course of the meal as they came by to explain each dish. Then… the food. Absolutely wonderful. We genuinely couldn’t pick a favourite dish as everything was flavourful, interesting, creative, and delicious. I’d definitely come back for another meal here!

Spectacular in all ways. I’m bummed I only opted for the lunch menu as I genuinely enjoyed every single dish to the full extent. Having had little exposure to African cooking, I can confidently say this is the best way to introduce someone to the cuisine who is apprehensive about it. A beautiful journey of bold spices, great technique yet approachable dishes that shine a light on the excellence of African cooking. Great spot for a special occasion, a business lunch / dinner or just because you’ve decided life is too short to not have delicious food. Definitely want to return for the evening tasting menu’

We had an exceptional dining experience here at Akoko. The ambience was warm, stylish, and beautifully curated and the perfect setting for a special meal. The dishes were absolutely delicious, and retained the authentic flavour of most west African meals.

The service was outstanding throughout, every waiter was friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they were presenting. A special highlight was receiving a personal handshake from the chef, which made the evening feel even more memorable and personable.

Akoko delivered on every level and we will definitely be back.

Akoko was hands down the best fine dining experience I’ve had this year. We had the tasting menu with the non-alcoholic pairing, and somehow each dish was better than the last. How is that even possible? Every course carried a subtle heat, something you rarely see in fine dining, and honestly, more restaurants should take note.

The drinks were just as impressive, each beautifully crafted with West African influences from Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, and Côte d’Ivoire. Sitting at the counter seats gave us the best view of the action, watching the chefs work with such care and precision. The staff were also incredibly friendly, explaining each dish in detail and sharing the stories behind them. The warmth and love from the whole team was truly felt throughout the experience.

My favourite dishes were the Jollof, squid abunuabunu, and monkfish egusi, all absolute standouts. It was such a joy to experience the flavours of West Africa, especially since it’s a cuisine we rarely get to enjoy back home in Sydney. Truly exceptional from start to finish.

I went for lunch at Akoko at 12pm on the 15/01/26, not knowing what to expect and I left feeling impressed.

Rahim and his manager, unfortunately I didn’t catch her name. So I will have to refer to her as the lovely dark chocolate skinned lady. Went above and beyond to look after me during my meal from the washing of hands to deserts.

If the opportunity arises, will visit again for the long menu.

A couple of things, I would like to point out to diners is that the caviar is a supplement and is charged extra, water both still and sparkling is £2. But comes with refills and half of the profits goes to charity.

As a black person, I am proud that we have a restaurant in Central London that celebrates Ghanaian, Nigeria and Senegalise culinary food that also employs a diverse group of people to run the restaurant. Ranging from Black, White, Asian and Oriental people.

Thanks again for the lovely experience.

Came here for lunch on Saturday. Requires reservation. Michelin 1 star west African cuisine.

I rarely compliment restaurant in London but definitely one of the best tasting menus in London. Every single course was interesting, unique, exotic and tasted delicious. The dessert and the sweets were great too. We did not add the supplement (goat cream with caviar) – additional £35. Service was good but not outstanding. Still has room for improvement. I wish the description by the staff was a bit clearer and with emphasis/enthusiasm as I didn’t understand some of it.

We spent over £300 for both of us with red wines and still water.

Definitely recommended.
