Social Profile:

Akita sushi began in the early weeks 2014 after three year of making sushi for friends and family. We had inspired from all the positive feedback we received from loved ones and from small events. We took part in our local church events annually. After working as a sushi chef at various restaurants I gained plenty of experience, that was key when creating a delicate cuisine such as sushi. My talents landed me an amazing opportunity as Head chef at Blushrawbar, I have decided to create my own unique amazing sushi Experience accompanied by co-funder of AKITA SUSHI Salomon we are anxiously waiting to completely satisfy all sushi lovers expectations and even more. Try Akita Sushi you will love it for sure!!!

I come here for lunch because it’s near my work. They have a good lunch special for $12 to cater to students since it’s near SCU. It’s pretty good if you like teriyaki chicken. I think this is dining in only, not sure if its available online to order.

I ordered the unagi handroll also and it was pretty good. The service was always nice when I’m here.

Update Aug 2026.
I went to get their lunch special and it is no longer available. They now have a new special.

It looks like buy 1 roll, the 2nd will be half off after 2pm, Monday to Friday.

I’m sad that the deal is gone but still pretty lucky it’s not too far from work.

Served me cold gyoza, had to ask to refill my water after a long time, brought me the wrong order at first. One of the rolls I considered not finishing it tasted so bad but both of the rolls we poorly made regardless, cut way too big, fell apart often. Then the server tried to sneak charge me more expensive things than I had ordered.

The ikura gunkan here is very generous, twice the topping amount you get at some other places. It’s almost like kobore sushi (meaning overflowing) in Japan. Five stars for this reason alone.

Visiting from out of town, I ordered a total of $180, including 6 sushi rolls, rice bowls, and dumplings – to only receive FOUR packs of soy sauce!! Was definitely not acceptable for the amount I ordered/family of 5 adults. The food itself was good but was really hard to enjoy the rolls, dumplings, and rice bowls with NO soy sauce. We were very disappointed.

Truly, a place that makes you feel like youre in a warehouse. The workers seem like they do not care that you exist and are not available consistently. Food was good but the place screamed unsanitary. Do not Dine at this place you will NOT get a second date, i took pics so yall can see im not playing.

The cook here is extremely rude and clearly doesn’t value good customer service. If you don’t want to be at work or treat people with basic respect, then stay home. Nobody deserves to be treated poorly for simply ordering food. Definitely won’t be coming back.

Great sushi in a hole in the wall restaurant. They probably do more takeout than dine in being near the college. Server was meh, but sushi was delicious with good size rolls and huge selection. Would definitely recommend for takeout, and don’t expect too much if you choose to dine in. Food was worth it though.

Great sushi spot right by campus! The indoor seating is there with a few tables and a bar that seats about 5-6 people. They were friendly and the service was fast! I will be making this a more regular place on my list. I had the lion king and the rainbow roll and both were good, and also really big size! Price was very reasonable as well!

I ordered sushi rolls, miso soup and hamachi kama delivery.
I’ll start with the fact they didn’t put the rice and miso soups in the bag.
Sushi were tasteless, rice they used is not sushi-cooked rice.
But the worst part is a raw hamachi kama (photo attached). I had to put it in the oven to finish their “cooking”. I understand that you guys are cooking frozen fish for your dishes, but there should be at least some quality control.
I want you to look in the eyes of the one who put this hamachi kama in the box for delivery.

Avoid this place.

The food quality is really good. I always order the Poke Bowl—it’s great. Just be careful with the wasabe.
