Went here for dinner with my parents who came from Canada for the holiday’s. It was all our first time and we had a great time. The restaurant was a lot smaller than we thought and it was busy so we waited for about 20 mins which was more than okay during dinner time rush. The ambiance was great and a bit upscale so it’s definitely a nice place to go to for a date night as well. Service was great and our server was so welcoming and checked on us frequently. Everything we ordered were delicious and although the rolls were a bit pricey, they were well made. We have been to some other sushi and ramen places in Clarksville and Akita is by far the best we’ve had here. We will definitely be back.

To start this place has the best sushi from Clarksville to Nashville. Me and my wife are Sushi lovers and since we moved to Tennessee we searched for months until we found Akita. The atmosphere inside was well thought out and looks amazing from the lighting, to the music, to the overall aesthetics. I’ve personally met the owner, he has honor and takes pride in his restaurant. We had a mistake on a to-go order months back, he made it right by crediting us for it the next time we came in. If you’re looking for some good food and great atmosphere give this place a visit.

A side note, some people have griped about the policy about not allowing outside food to be eaten in the restaurant. Two things about this, it is a common courtesy and basic manners to not bring outside food into restaurants. The other thing is I’ve dined in a lot of places in Tennessee all the way to the west coast and this policy is not uncommon.

People should not review bomb and rob others of a good experience. This place literally has some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Please come give it a try and support a local business!!

Update 2026-01:

My wife was in the mood for steak, the other day. Remembering that though we had been sad that they eliminated the Izakaya, but replaced it with Hibachi, I suggested that she try that to satisfy her steak craving. This was a take-out order.

So, in addition to Tuna Tartar and Tropical Lemon Roll, which we have enjoyed before, my wife had the Hibachi Steak.

The ticket says the steak should be “Medium”, but there was no pink. Even so, the steak was super tender and flavorful. We both really enjoyed it. We paid an extra dollar to upgrade to Fried Rice, which was a nice upgrade. The vegetables with the steak were cooked perfectly.

I had the Sapporo Miso Ramen (again). Feeling a bit under-the-weather, I did not have it spicy. So, it was just delicious. The grilled pork is great and the jammy egg is perfect. As I probably mentioned before, I have had several different Ramen here, and never one that wasn’t delicious.

Original Review, 2025-12:

Over the past several months, I have eaten at Akita quite often, both in-person and to-go. I have never had a disappointing dish from them.

When my wife and I started going, we mostly ignored the ramen. We mostly had sushi, sushi rolls, and some odds and ends. My wife loved their yakitori, but we have been told that it is no longer available, and will be replaced with teppanyaki (done in the kitchen), so I won’t be uploading the yakitori menu page or commenting on how delicious it was. 🙁

Anyway, I eventually decided to try their ramen. I’ve had ramen before, at other restaurants in multiple states, and always wound up thinking, “Hmm. That wasn’t bad.” But I think that the Akita ramen is great. I have had probably five of the eight versions on the menu, and I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite. Just now, I tried to do so, and wound up with a 4-way tie. `¯_(ツ)_/¯`

Since we started with sushi rolls, I should probably get back to that. We’ve probably tried 6-8 of the 20 Special Roll choices, and have been very pleased with all of them. Here, I especially like the Tropical Lemon Roll (which we have had at least three times. (Hmm. I’m not finding pictures of any other rolls; I have them “somewhere”.)

The restaurant has been laid out really nicely, with attention to detail. The only negative I can think of is that when they are super busy and a lot of people are waiting, there is not very much space for them to wait in.

Oh, I did mention that we have had to-go from Akita a few times. I am very impressed with their to-go packaging. It’s not the typical “Sam’s Club” foam pods, but rather packaging that seems to have been made specifically for them and for the food intended to go into that packaging. I am especially impressed with the packaging for the ramen, as it keeps the broth separate from the noodles and everything else, keeping the noodles from getting overly soggy.

Serving staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and are totally on top of things.

There are several very good sushi places in Clarksville, and some good ramenn places, too. But, for me, Akita is my go-to place for both.

Honestly it was a real spur of the moment dining experience since my family and I were near the restaurant. The server was incredibly patient with us, my daughter is a 1 year old and loves avocado, so we were feeding her pieces of the avocado from a roll we got but the server also recommended a roll that had more avocado in it. The server also took the time to tell me what was in a mixes drink. The chicken hibachi was amazing and the ramen was excellent. Well done and I will be excited to take my family here again.

So I came to this place twice before putting in a review. Second time was last night. We didn’t wait to long both times. Service from our server both times wasn’t great. Both times the servers seemed very busy and we were waiting for refills or other things requested (and last night they weren’t busy at all). The chicken on the appetizer list wasn’t good it was like chewy chicken nuggets. I wish they had Katsu chicken instead. The sushi was good both visits but I prefer no fruit or cream cheese in my sushi and most of their choices on the specialty rolls had those in most of them. The tiramisu dessert was great, not too sweet which I love. Overall experience was neutral. I will most likely go to one where I can get my chicken Katsu and better overall service. Just being honest. Hopefully they will take this advice and fix things that are mentioned.

The Waygu Samurai roll was delicious and I would come back again for that and the yummy Beef Buns! (Loved those puffy buns) THE FOOD IS GOOD HERE! THE ATMOSPHERE IS GOOD HERE! THE PEOPLE ARE NICE HERE! The prices are steep, but it’s worth it for a date night! We came on a Sunday and had no wait time for a table. The best Sushi/Ramen place to eat at in the Sango area!

If you’re looking for a place that’s open earlier than HANANOKI and roughly the same price, this is your place.

Food was absolutely delicious with a great ambiance and excellent staff.

Will definitely be back.

We’d been looking for a good restaurant in the Sango area and we sure found it! ❤️ We ordered the sushi roll dinner for two and omg was it good! We got the soup and salad with it which was also delicious but if we’d known the amount of sushi we had coming we could’ve skipped that lol! The sushi was top notch and we loved every bite we could eat and had plenty left over to take with us for later too! It was amazingly good!!! Our server Akira (pronounced Akeeda) was also awesome! The other server also came by to say hello and was friendly with us too! We will DEFINITELY be going back again to try more of their dishes! Love this place! ❤️

✅️ Vegetarian appetizers, vegetarian sushi!!!!!! Im so impressed by the Vegetarian sushi. It’s hands down the best veggie sushi I’ve had. It’s NOT just lettuce and cucumber like a few other places I have been to in town. There’s some actual effort and artistry in this thing. It was delicious and had varied ingredients. I think it’s the best vegetarian sushi I’ve tasted in Clarksville. I could have written about the other things we ordered, but this seemed the most important
