Well, this is one of those experiences where you realize “oh, every other time I’ve had this food it was done improperly” because wow. I thought I knew tonkotsu ramen, but I didn’t.
I didn’t realize that the collagen and bone broth when boiled over long periods actually creates a creamy white color underneath the fatty delicious umami goodness of the broth. It was just as beautiful to look at and experience as it was to eat. Just blown away by how close to perfection that meal was (and maybe it was perfection, I can’t think of a complaint!).
Not only did the wait staff cater to my request (I don’t like mushrooms) and were attentive and offered to warm up my sake on top of everything, but the food was really transcendent. This might be one of the best meals I’ve had out in years.
Don’t waste your time with other places. If you thought ramen was just good or generally meh, try this place. They will show you how it should be done.

Insanely good ramen. some of the most delicious broth I have ever had in a bowl of ramen. Everything works so well together the noodles were perfect and the spice level was spot on. I ordered the spicy miso and I can’t wait to come back to try some other versions. Not a ton of tables so it could get very busy but you order from a QR code at your table which I love.A++

The servers were helpful. The bubble tea is very sweet and cannot be adjusted, they were kind enough to give me a refund for the boba tea I ordered. The black garlic tonkatsu is delicious. Unfortunately mine had burnt crispy pieces off the grill in it . The manager gave me a free desert to apologize, which was very sweet. I’m sure this was an accident and would not be a regular occurance. The marinated egg was very good. This was my first time eating here.

Easily the best ramen north of Boston! I was overjoyed to find such an authentic ramen restaurant so close to home. I’ve been twice now and their food is consistently delicious. The restaurant is a little on the smaller side but they offer a wait-list that you can join online ahead of time so you’re not waiting too long. You can also order to go and they take special care to separate the noodles from the broth to avoid soggy noodles.

We live closer to Boston and were up in Andover visiting family when we decided to look for a place to eat—and that’s how we stumbled upon Akita Ramen. What a wonderful surprise! We had no idea this tucked-away gem even existed.
From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the fun, warm, and inviting atmosphere. The space feels lively yet comfortable—exactly the kind of place you want to settle into and enjoy a great meal.
We ordered the Brussels sprouts, takoyaki, and the spicy miso ramen, and every single dish was outstanding. Everything was expertly prepared, full of flavor, and nicely presented. We would absolutely order all of them again without hesitation. The taro boba drink was also delicious and perfectly balanced.
The waitstaff completed the experience: polite, attentive, and genuinely engaging, which made us feel very welcome from start to finish.
We’re so happy we discovered Akita Ramen and will absolutely be making the trip back in the future. A hidden gem that’s well worth seeking out! ✨

Total gimmick. $7 for this 12oz boba tea. Small crowded location. Door opens and freezes the place over and over. No service – order and pay on your phone before the food comes. Long wait. Terrible

While it was a little on the pricey side for lunch, the food was delicious, did not take them long to prepare, and I left full and satisfied.

This was my first time eating here and I absolutely loved it! The portions were great for the prices and the quality is excellent. I had my order to go and the container for the ramen was so well thought out. I definitely recommend this place, weather your eating there or taking it to go!

First time here and everything went perfect. Staff was super nice, we walked in and was acknowledged and seated immediately. Food came out quick. I highly recommend this small secret gem! Parking is also easy which was a plus!
