I was very happy with my first experience here. I ordered steak and mushroom hibachi with fried rice, spring rolls, and crab Rangoons. Everything was well cooked. The fried rice was nice and fluffy while, steak and mushrooms tender. Crab Rangoons looked to be in house made, they were generously filled. Each item came with its own sauce: sweet and sour, sweet chili, and siracha mayo (saw them making this themselves through the window). I was happy to be able to order and pickup through the drive thru. The menu is clear and easy, even the speaker worked well. Overall cost was very reasonable considering the generous entree portion and overall quality of my meal. I look forward to trying other items on their menu and will recommend others to try.

I love this place so much! The food is very very high quality (especially the steak and scallops – they taste like a high-end restaurant) and super affordable! Steak is cooked very well – tender and not overdone (usually around medium). I’ve never had that experience when I order steak from fast food places, it’s always overdone. It has been a 10/10 experience every time I’ve been here. The drive-thru is very convenient as well. Staff is very friendly. Much needed establishment in the Havlock area, we don’t have very many high quality restaurants like this on the north side of town. Wonderful addition to the community.

17 February 2025 Quick update

I wanted to try something else today, so I tried the Fried Gyoza and Teriyaki Chicken with broccoli and steamed rice. I enjoyed the steamed rice much more than the fried rice. Both the appetizer and the entree were very good. I don’t understand why the fried rice was so greasy. It isn’t greasy when I order fried rice from Chinese food restaurants.

I forgot to mention that Akita accepts Apple Pay. I really appreciate that.

16 February 2025 First visit

It’s too bad that Lincoln lost a Burger King, but its closure created an opportunity for another restaurant. It’s cool that we ended up with a Japanese food restaurant. I knew about Akita because I drove by it several times, but it wasn’t until I read a 5 star review on Yelp that I decided to give it a try. I ended up going there for dinner tonight.

After looking at the menu for a few minutes, I decided to try the Chicken Karaage for the appetizer and the Hibachi Chicken with fried rice for the entree. While the fried chicken appetizer was good, I don’t believe it was worth the $6.95 price. I am sure the cook made a mistake in my favor and gave me the Hibachi Steak because what I got looked and tasted like steak. I’m ok with that. The steak, mushrooms, and fried rice were good, but the fried rice was a bit greasy. As for the sauces that came with the meal, the one that’s yellow was just ok. It had a hint of spiciness that I really didn’t notice until I exhaled. I felt it in my nose. The orange sauce was excellent. I tried both with the fried chicken and steak.

I didn’t have to wait very long for my food. It was served hot and fresh too. I ate inside this time because I wanted to see the inside of the restaurant and take pictures. The staff was friendly. I recommend taking your own silverware if you are going to eat there because they only give customers a plastic fork. Will I be back? Yes. I enjoyed the food, and I look forward to trying their other options.

We usually get take out. The portions are generous, even the crab rangoons are stuffed full! Usually we eat half of our dinners and save the rest for lunch the next day! The food always tastes fresh and reheats well! Love this place!

This place was soooo good! You can never go wrong with veggies, rice and meat. I got the steak and chicken bowl. The husband got the steak and shrimp bowl. Some Japanese fried chicken (which was like boneless wings) and the pork eggrolls. Whatever the sauce was the serve with the bowls was fire and I need more next time. I will for sure be back.

A friend told us to check this place out and we are so glad we did. It took over a Burger King location so it’s pretty casual and there is a drive-thru. Service is quick although your food is made to order and is served hot and fresh. We got the hibachi steak and it was so friggin’ tasty. Generous portion and affordably priced. Love the simple menu, too.

food i was not impressed. just another way to cook sysco foods.. got the noodles lacked flavor. that brings me to service.. the gen z young gal at the counter is kind of rude condisending and i asked for a sause to cover the bland food up and she was like” i can give you a small” first off “your food sucks bad enough im asking politly” 2nd i wasnt wanting a gallon. didnt need to be said but of corse someone like her has to open her mouth and have some last word…. eye roll.. food cools off quick so dont expect a hot meal after waiting 10 min for some noodles and chicken… atmosphere is well cheep… its ok for a start up and i wouldnt judge the over all exp off that. its ok here but service is garbage and the food isnt worth it to me.. much better places

Our service right from the beginning was poor. The employee was doing drive thru and front desk. There was no Excuse me we’re short staffed. This person seemed pre occupied and we were forgotten. It was unpleasant. We didn’t get a number for delivery to our seats. I had to ask for my cup.
The smell was strange inside.
The quality of food for your dollar is Excellent!! The Best Crab Rangoons!!!
It was definitely off putting at 1st. The taste and amount of food made up for the rest. I have been through the drive thru since.
1 question: in the food business are you supposed to have any employees wearing Tank tops on the clock?? The person doing this area And front desk-again had on a Tank top. It was unsettling.
Hopefully this review is detailed enough for you. The food is terrific! They are a new business in the area. Short staffed on a regular basis.
You make your own opinion after going inside to stay and try the drive thru.

I stopped by tonight, I pulled into the drive-thru right at 9 PM not knowing that they close at 9 PM. I did not get any bad vibes or anything through the girl who took my order, the only reason I figured out that they close at nine is that I saw a guy mopping in the back and figured I’d ask what time they are open until tonight. I must’ve gone on a weekend previously because I remember going late, which is why I didn’t think that they closed at nine. I apologized and the girl at the window (I didn’t see her name) kept saying that it’s fine and no worries. I apologized as she handed me the food again and she still continued to say no worries It’s okay! I just got home and I opened my bag and they gave me a free order of crab Rangoon‘s and wrote “on the house!” on the box. Not only could they have (and rightfully so) turned me away, given me attitude and bare minimum, they treated me so kindly in both their attitude and the free crab Rangoon’s. If I hadn’t asked what time they closed out, I never would have known or gotten a vibe that something was off. Not only is there food delicious but their customer service skills are even better. Thank you so much! Would 10 out of 10 recommend!!
