We’re known for our famous fresh BBQ, hot and ready for you in our new dining space, 7-days a week; ensuring you’ll never be far from delicious ribs, brisket, pulled pork, smoked bologna, jalapeño sausage & all the fixings. You can even enjoy a cold beer with your BBQ, listen to some of your favorite live music, all while watching your favorite team or rodeo on 6 big screens. To boot, we’re stocked with drinks, snacks, and, our hats & shirts, so you’ll leave in style wearing our famous merch! Ribs were good and wet, next time I will ask for dry. Sauce is tasty, potato salad was good, beans are good. My husband got 3 meat plate and loved it. Disappointed that they dont have fries or that the bread isn’t toasted. They have live music starting at 7 but we were too early. I picture this as a hopping place at night. Would definitely come back.

Meat was good and got plenty of it. Sides were fair.. they give you plenty of those but just not to my liking. The cobbler made me laugh…was 2 peach slices(very thin ones) and barely a spoon full. Would I go back? Maybe…the dog outside was awesome. Id go back just to play with him.

This place has some awesome ribs, brisket and pulled pork. All meat is so tender. I have to mention the peach cobbler is to die for. Fantastic! They have a stage for live music and seating both indoors and out. They serve soft drinks, tea, water and alcohol. Its not real big but has plenty of room. Its out away from town but so worth the visit.

BBQ worth eating! Jalapeño coleslaw is not too hot, very tasty. Brooke’s beans are delicious. Must try the cobbler. Wide drink choices. Also have live music some nights. All meats ate very good!!

Had this for dinner tonight and it hit the spot. The pulled pork is so juicy that I like mine without any sauce, the bbq beans have an amazing flavor and of course I love smoked bologna so I had that as well. Portions were well worth and the sauce was really good too. Very delicious! Plus we got keepsake cups to take home.

Even if this place didn’t have amazing food, even if it didn’t have amazing live music, and even if it didn’t have amazing staff, it would still be owned by two of the best, most hardworking, and most supportive people I’ve ever met in my 40 years. A year ago they were strangers, and through them booking me and my band, now I have the honor of calling them friends and drive over an hour to go there regularly (most of the time not for me or my band to play, just because it’s that great of a place.) If every small town had an Akins Store, the world would be a much, much better place!

I’ve heard about this place on the radio and thought I’d try it out.. the pulled pork sandwiches were amazing the baked beans were just a little bit much on the onion and garlic powder but the sauce and omg that Mac and cheese with the pulled pork…….I have no words on how amazing that was. We will definitely be going back for more.

I camp down by this place. I dropped by to try the BBQ. It was so good. We got ribs, brisket, bologna, baked beans, pickles, and white bread. It was all so good. White bread is white bread, but I did like the pickles they had. Their BBQ sauce was good as well. I have been coming to Akins Store for years. They used to have a sign that welcomed the family to the area every year of the reunion, so I am familiar with the store and it’s offerings.
If you want a great destination fun day, drive to Akins Store, get you some great BBQ, drive down to Sequoyah’s Cabin Museum, picnic there, enjoy the displays, then wrap it up with a drive back to Akins cemetery and see Pretty Boy Floyd’s grave stone.
