I had lunch here on a Sunday. I was greeted and seated promptly. I liked the calming vibe. I was not rushed the enture time and was even offered more hot tea after I already paid the bill. The miso soup was delicious, the ginger sald dressung thick and plenty, and the sushi was delish. I ate there alone and it was a very pleasent experience!

I’ve been here a few times and while I can’t speak for the sushi rolls, the nigiri is delicious! Nice sized cuts of fish – the salmon and seared scallops were our favs! The hot and sour soup is a perfect app and full of flavor. Also great drink deals for happy hour!

I’ve been coming here around my birthday every year for almost 10 years. Not a single bad experience, with kind service and great food. Usuzukuri appetizer is a real treat.

We eat at AKI at least twice a month. The sashimi & sushi is fresh, tasty & excellent. Along with our regular sushi & sashimi order, we usually order a seaweed salad, miso soup & shumai and these are always amazing. The sushi chefs are very skilled and the platters of sashimi and sushi are beautifully arranged. We will continue to eat at this restaurant and recommend it to all who love Japanese food.
The service is personal and excellent. The service is always amazing! Our server is knowledgeable about the fish and answers our questions about items we are curious about. Thank you AKI for all the wonderful meals we have been served and the fantastic service.

Award for tiniest sushi roll youve ever paid for goes to Aki! Roll thinker than a nickel, thinner than a quarter. The regular sized 4 pieces was a 16.50 roll. That’s right … 4 bucks a piece. 55.00 for what’s in the photo (minus 4 egg roll order). Other bad reviews saying the same thing. Service during TAKEOUT was bad as well. (Been here before and don’t remember the tiny portions – service was dynamite thanks to a specific guy who no longer works there)

I went here to get take out for my birthday. I off work late and needed something solid. My girlfriend and I got take out only to realize when eating at home I literally found a Metal Shaving inside my sushi roll that I pulled from my mouth. Customer service was absolutely terrible and at first they said they couldn’t give a refund and when I showed up with the spat out sushi roll and the metal shaving in my container- I got a really lame “sorry” and they showed the sushi maker the shaving- he grabbed it with his food glove and then pointed to this area behind the counter where everything was covered in Aluminum Foil? Seriously like 2 toaster ovens completely covered in foil. This was not an aluminum foil chunk- this was a legitimate metal shaving that held its structure and had curved waves in it. They only refunded me for the 1 Roll and didn’t even offer a legitimate apology. I spent over $40 here. You should have given me a proper apology and refunded my whole meal- that is the customary response to a messed up situation like this. That’s almost as bad as finding a metal shard in your food or glass. So in turn I made a scene upon leaving bc you literally ruined by birthday dinner and I’m not coming back here. Your sushi doesn’t even taste fresh. Absolutely horrible experience.

Amazing!! I will be back. One of the most enjoyable sushi dinners I’ve had in a long time. Portions are very large with tons of fresh fish, quality was great, and Ivan was a fantastic server. Also the happy hour special was great for Sake, beer, and nigiri.
Update: I don’t want to change the stars on my review… but we came back and the restaurant smelled so bad of sewage that we left. I was excited to show Aki to my wife and friends but we couldn’t get over the smell so decided to go somewhere else. I hope it gets fixed.

What a wonderful time! This place is a pretty penny, but it was a great treat that we thoroughly enjoyed. We came just around 3p—no rush and a fairly empty restaurant. Service was pretty fast, staff was friendly, and the music was quiet (yes! Good!). This is a great location for convenience of walking on S Broadway, and the rolls tasted fresh and looked lovely. Two people were absolutely stuffed after this boat and its soup/salad starter.

Been coming here for 5 years. My apologies to the owners Bonnie & her Sushi chef husband Ben for taking this long to leave a review. Wife & I have eaten at many sushi restaurants around Denver. This is the best. Excellent quality and good portions. Servers very attentive. Skip the pretentious place in Wash Park and come here
