Akashí Hibachi & Sushi Bar in Richmond is fantastic! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The hibachi was cooked to perfection, and delicious. Pricing was lower than expected for hibachi. Everything we ordered tasted amazing, and the service was friendly. The service was a bit slow and unorganized, so that is why I could not give a higher marking. This is a new location, so hopefully they will work out those small tweaks. Great atmosphere and an all-around excellent dining experience — we’ll definitely be back!

I visit Akashi regularly. The lunch specials are amazing. Love the sushi as well as the Chinese dishes. Have not tried the hibachi yet but will soon. I’ve watched families being entertained by the chefs and they seem to enjoy the show.

The service is always friendly and the food is always fresh.

Clean and very nice ambience and hibachi is right in the middle with glass wall. This place was recommended from my friend that she says the hibachi was excellent but there weren’t any customers in the hibachi table and we weren’t sure if they’ll served just 2 of us. We decided just to order off the menu and see if the food will taste as good as the hibachi. I never had the hibachi there but the food off the menu is not in my liking. Shrimp fried rice…the shrimp is not fresh and my pork katsu is dry and tough.

When we came in we were seated immediately and accompanied by a very nice server that took our order and brought water immediately . The hibachi chef came after a short 5 minutes and went straight to making the food. He was very funny and put on a real nice show. The best hibachi chef a customer could ever meet. I’ve tried many hibachis around Austin, Houston, Sugarland, and Katy and this is by far the best one considering I’ve gotten food poisoning from two other hibachis. The food and atmosphere were perfect and I loved the service time. The salmon teriyaki and fried rice were the best things I’ve had in a while. We love the hibachi chefs❤️‍

I’ve been twice already and each time the service has been amazing. My friend recommended this spot because I was craving sushi in the Richmond area and I’m glad she did. The rolls were delicious and flavorful with each bite. I really enjoyed the Fuji volcano roll. I know butter is probably sacrilegious for sushi, but with the scallops and shrimp on top, I’m obsessed highly recommend that. I was not expecting the sweetheart roll to look like an actual heart so that was really cute. We wanted a healthy version of the general tso chicken which isn’t fried so they were very accommodating with our special order. The customer service has been outstanding every time we have come here. And the interior of the restaurant is actually stunning. You don’t feel like you’re in the suburbs. If you have problems picking out what to eat, don’t skip this place. One day we’ll try the hibachi because it did look entertaining and popular.

My sister has alpha gal and is glutten free. They made her a dish in the kitchen to decrease risk of contamination. They brought her this huge plate of rice, veggies, chicken. It was perfect! They were accommodating to our large party. Friendly and the food was great!

It started with a meeting and ended up being a fantastic meal.

I was in from out of state and spending time with a colleague.

Our server, Rex, greeted us and took our drink orders. He gave us a few minutes with the menu, and fortunately, my colleague was able to recommend a few favorites.

We ordered and the food came quickly. Rex was there for us. Drinks were never empty. He was available if we needed him, but never intrusive.

The decor and ambiance was elegant and quiet. We truly enjoyed our meal. We did not have any issues with the food quality or presentation, it was all excellent and disappeared quickly.

It was an excellent meal, and I look forward to my next meal there.

I celebrated my birthday here and we had a great time! Booking through Google was easy and confirmed quickly. It was our first visit and we’ll definitely be back. Our hibachi chef wasn’t as interactive as others we saw, but he still made the experience fun—especially for the kids! My 7-year-old loved catching the rice. The food portions were huge (we all needed takeaway boxes), and the special roll we ordered was delicious. Service was great, too!

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Akashi Hibachi, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Right from the moment we arrived, everything was smooth and enjoyable.

First off, the parking was great. Not only was there ample parking, but they also had dedicated spots for handicap access, which was thoughtful. When we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised that there was no wait at all. The restaurant wasn’t full, so we were seated almost immediately, which was a great start to the evening.

The interior of Hibachi is modern and inviting. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxing meal, with soft music playing in the background that added to the chill vibe. The layout was spacious, and there were more than enough seats, giving us plenty of room to settle in and enjoy our time.

Our server, Maria, deserves special mention. She was incredibly cordial and professional, attending to us with just the right amount of attentiveness. Maria checked in periodically to make sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive, which we really appreciated.

The food was a highlight. It arrived relatively quickly, and every dish was delicious. Our drinks were equally impressive—fresh and perfectly mixed, adding a nice touch to the whole experience. Despite all we ordered, the prices were very affordable, making this one of the best value-for-money meals I’ve had in a while.

All in all, Hibachi provides a great dining experience with its excellent service, delicious food, and chill atmosphere. It wasn’t crowded, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal, and I’ll definitely be returning soon.

Went with 2 my friends for lunch. We wanted to order from the hibachi lunch menu but the hostess told us they only serve the hibachi lunch to parties of 4 or more…. We were bummed when we were told this because it didn’t say it didn’t mention this anywhere on their website or in the restaurant. It felt like we were being discriminated… A family of 3 walked in and also wanted the hibachi lunch. We explained what the hostess stated to us and asked could we merge parties to become a party of 6. Thankfully, they were fine with us doing so!

They sat us around 11:55am and we weren’t served soup/salad until about 12:25pm. The hibachi then came out at 12:30pm exactly. The staff moved extremely slow. Our waitress wasn’t very attentive. She didn’t want to show us the sushi menu she said it wasn’t available….

The actual hibachi meal was good. I got the chicken hibachi. It came with mushroom soup and miso salad for starters and then chicken, vegetables, noodles, and rice.

One lady did have an onion allergy and the hibachi chef cross contaminated a few times. His cooking utensils touched the onions for the volcano part of the hibachi show and then proceeded to touch the rest of the food with the same utensils….

– So make sure to show up as a party of 4 if you want the hibachi lunch.
– Don’t come if you’re in a rush, thankfully we didn’t have plans that day.
– If you have an allergy, just know there’s cross contamination.
