20/10 — hands down one of the best sushi experiences I’ve had in North Carolina.

I ordered the premium nigiri and sashimi set, and the fish quality was outstanding. The toro, snapper, and bluefin tuna and all the rest were absolutely incredible—fresh, rich, and perfectly prepared.

On top of the already top-tier fish, the chef served freshly grated real wasabi root. Only a handful of places do this, such as high-end omakase experiences—so this was a huge and unexpected in a small restaurant right beside a gas station.

Highly recommend ordering the premium items and letting the chef show off.

❤️ Unexpected find. Wonderful experience.
Anyone else confused to find an epic sushi place connected to a gas station? I’m definitely going to go back tho! We got the rainbow, phat ?something?boy?, Dragon rolls plus Edamame and gyoza.

Amazing sushi in the most unassuming location. All three rolls we tried were great and the restaurant felt warm and inviting. Definitely worth a visit!

We have heard people rave about Akami for a few years. We decided to give it a try tonight and wow – incredible. We arrived at 445pm and there was already a line of people waiting for them to open at 5 – this was our first inclination that we were in for a treat. Service was good, attentive and quick for having a full house right at opening. Gyoza and Edamame for appetizers. Both delicious. Gyoza was perfectly steamed, as were the edamame. Neither were over cooked in the slightest. Voodoo roll and Ocean roll were absolutely outstanding. The rolls were truly the best sushi around; they don’t skimp on the size of the roll or the ingredients used. Toppings on the top of the roll were plentiful and the flavors were perfect; I will crave it! This will absolutely be our go-to for sushi from here on out. Long life gas station sushi!!

Lives up to prior reviews. Intimate setting abuts a gas station. Very popular. I heeded the suggestions by my server. No disappointments. Freshest fish I have seen since moving to triangle. The rolls were filling as well as the carpaccio.
I’d eat there everyday if it was not so far away.

Well, that was ‘unexpected’…
We chose to give this gas station sushi bar a chance, and I just had the best experience ever. Every single detail—the food was the best ever! Fresh, tasty… perfect.
Thank you everyone, it was exceptional, I hope to have the chance to come to this place again soon!!

High expectations just moving here from CA and this place does NOT disappoint. Great service, FRESH fish, nice atmosphere and ambiance. They won’t mask the fish with tons of sauces which a lot of places do here so it masks the not so quality/fresh fish. Will definitely be back but without the kids next time Thank you!!

Their sushi is so fresh with a video variety of selections. The portions are good and you get your money’s worth with the quality of the fish. It does get super crowded and parking is difficult to get but worth it for their sushi and sashimi ! Try to get there early before they sell out !

Absolutely great sushi! Everything we tried was top notch and authentic. When someone recommended the “gas station” sushi place I was skeptical but this place didn’t disappoint.
My family was also very happy with their food choices.

Will definitely come again and highly recommend. So far best sushi place in and around the Apex/Holly springs area.

Hear me out. I know it’s attached to a gas station but you overlook that quick once you get inside & see the menu. Everything is amazing. The place does get filled up pretty quick so be prepared to wait. It’s worth it I promise.
