We’ve been here multiple times and that’s because the place never disappoints. The y serve the best susshi in the area. Their appetizera, entrees all are very good. Their sushi roll options are vast and all the ones I tasted are very delectable and made with care. The sashimi s are as fresh as can be. Nestled in downtown Westfield, easy to reacjz make a reservation and have a lovely time over dinner with friends and family. A 5/5 rating for all the times I’ve visited Akai Lounge.

Pleasant experience! The crew are quick and has initiative! Even though the restaurant gets full they don’t pressure you to leave! Food tastes great but somehow it is amercanized. Akai bbq is recommended! The vibes is cozy, they have bar seating. Place is not as big but could get really crowded. Parking might be hard. Restroom is clean and spacious. Good interior design, matches the food served. High chair and koala kare seen. Debit/credit card accepted. See images for reference.

Had lunch on a weekday, salad and sushi combo. It was a good value, sushi tasted fantastic, salad was surprisingly larger portion, and service was attentive and friendly. Def a pricey spot, but I can see the quality in the food. Lady Dragon Roll was delicious!

Amazing Gem in Westfield with NYC vibes. I stumbled on the restaurant that appeared trendy from the outside looking in. There was outdoor dining, a bar with music playing and the inside of the restaurant was beautiful. I was seated promptly after checking in without reservations and tried a variety of sushi rolls. The OMG roll was pretty amazing. I look forward to returning to try the cocktail and other dishes on the menu.

Went there for an early Dinner so there was no wait.
We sat inside but they also have outside seating.
We started with the Shrimp and Scallop with Saki Butter Sauce and the Beef Negimaki appetizers.
Then we had for our main course the Katsu Don and the Akai BBQ short ribs
All of the food was delicious. No complaints and we will definitely come back to try some other dishes

This Japanese restaurant was a wonderful experience. The food has an authentic and well-balanced flavor, but the dumplings stole the show: absolutely spectacular, some of the best I’ve ever had! The atmosphere is super pleasant, with a vibe that makes you want to stay and enjoy. On top of that, our server was very kind and attentive, which made the visit even more special.

Nice interior, nice and professional staff, but super slow kitchen on a not busy afternoon. Fish quality is just okay. Ordered spider roll, the softshell crab part was good. Sushi rice not seasoned appropriately to be “sushi rice”, but this is a common issue for most sushi restaurants in the US.

I was excited to try this restaurant! When I arrived I parked on the street. I walked into a beautiful restaurant! I loved the decor. We had a great server (I believe her name was Emma). For my drinks, I got the lemon drop martini and the pinot nior, which were good. For my meal I got the shrimp udon which was very good. My friend enjoyed his shrimp teriyaki. It was a really good time.
