a very unique dining experience, the food was good…highlight was the sampling platter by far (pictured). the space is interesting for a restaurant, lighting was very bright, and seating arrangements are sporadic across a very large auditorium. Overall I thought it was a lovely place to share a West African meal with friends. Well done.

Please note that you can order from your table and pay your bill via a scan to pay. When they ran my card they didn’t allow me to add a tip (cash tip only) but you can if you close out your own tab online.
The food is AMAZING here. It was my first time here and I was blown away. The beef samosas were delicious and came with the most amazing red sauce. The Suya wings (not spicy) were by far my favorites but we also tried the hibiscus ginger (a little spicy) and the nokoss (not spicy, very lemony) wings. I ordered the red stew with lamb shank and fufu and was blown away by how good it was! My partner got the beef jollof plate. The beef and rice were delicious! My niece got the okra stew and fufu. She loved it!! This was definitely got added to our list of favorite places and we will be back!

the appetizer sample platter is GREAT & a must get! I wish every restaurant did this, I always want try a bite of everything the first visit. The wings are all incredible, a perfect mix of flavors & textures.. worth the splurge.
It was our first time having proper jollof rice and it was soooo good. still thinking about it a week later..! we got the chicken stew option & it was so flavorful. the rice on its own is incredible. great portion for 2.

Delicious food and drinks with a wide flavor profile. Is describe the food as exciting, just spicy enough to excite with flavor to keep the excitement going. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Portland.

Unbelievably good food. Although the tables were completely taken due to reservations, we went in right around the time they opened and got seats pretty quickly. Highly recommend getting the whole fried fish, which was fresh and flavorful with the relish on top. The hibiscus lemonade was good too.

Save yourself an hour or more wait by making yourself a reservation. Fridays are live music. The food is great, but skip the over salted chicken wings. The fish dishes and fufu are excellent!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It’s bright and gives an outdoor vibe inside. The place was packed and we aired like 15-20 mins for a table. There were several options for the type of table you may prefer. We were sat on a leather couch with a long shorter table. Creating a chill laid back vibe. I ordered the lentil samosa. Really good especially with the sauce. The lentils inside were a little harder than my liking but it didn’t take away from the flavor of the samosas. The sauce to go with it was really good. It paired well. Next, I ordered the jollof rice meal with the fish. The fish was amazing! I don’t remember the name of the fish, it’s definitely not from the American shores. The jollof rice I wasn’t a fan of. The flavors seemed really dialed down for the non-melenated folks, that it was giving boxed rice with some seasoning. The pickled kale was refreshing. My date had the lamb skank okra stew with the corn fufu and really really enjoyed it.

Delicious! Nice environment, good portions, and well made entrees. The staff was friendly, helpful, and quick to get us a table when we walked in with 5 people. I highly recommend the appetizer platter! Food was a little pricy, but was worth eating here to try the unique, spice packed flavors.

This unique restaurant on the east side of downtown Portland offers delicious West African cuisine. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the interior is beautifully decorated with bright colors and lights. The wings were flavorful and augmented with spices. The fried fish was perfectly cooked and topped with delicious sauces. Attentive and friendly service. Free street parking.

I got the red stew with fufu and the fried mushroom “chikken” with fermented cassava Attiéké. The red stew with fufu was my favorite. I didn’t like the fermented cassava Attiéké. It was too salty for me, but the fried mushrooms were good. The atmosphere of the restaurant is an old warehouse but some of the seating is couches which is cozy, like you’re in someone’s living room.
