Happy with the food, service and company. Highly recommend!
The parradilla platter was so delicious. I also sampled their table side homemade guacamole and was not disappointed. This dish was appetizing as well as entertaining.
My waiter Arturo/Armondo? I am very sorry I cant remember his name, was really nice. He took care of my needs and offered suggestions. I took him up on the margarita specials.
The food was excellent and my service was great. Overall. I am glad I chose the spot for my lunch.
The prices were reasonable and food tasted awesome. If I had more time in San Antonio, I would frequently return.
I highly recommend this restaurant for its food and drink service.
Service also felt impacted, likely due to being short-staffed. Our server was friendly and did his best, but struggled to keep drinks filled — something that seemed more a result of staffing challenges than his effort.
As for the food, I ordered the fajita taco plate. The flavor of the meat tasted less than fresh, and the charro beans had an overpowering chili taste that masked any balance with the rice.
There were a couple of highlights: the chips and salsa were fresh and enjoyable, and the margaritas were excellent with a perfect liquor-to-mix ratio that stood out.
While this visit didn’t live up to my usual experiences, I would still recommend stopping by at least once if you’re in the Huebner and I-10 area. Hopefully, once the construction is complete and staffing improves, Ajuua will return to the great dining experience I’ve enjoyed in the past.
Everyone ordered from the menu and it went so SMOOTHLY AND there were over 100 guests!
Bar drinks were amazing and the wait staff outstanding in checking on all the classmates.
We had a blast and heard nothing but compliments. We’re already talking about the next party and everyone wants to go back to Ajuua!
They have an all you can eat breakfast buffet and tower mimosas on weekends (have not tried it but looks delicious). I really like their enchilada plates. They also have this appetizer plate with a decent mix of stuff that’s enough for two people to nibble on and get drinks. We did two of them for a group of four of us and there was enough for everyone while we downed margs.
I have tried their marg flight and some of their other drinks. Amazing. Five stars. El Jefe is my favorite. Took. Me. Out. We repeatedly go back for happy hour.
I’ve been there while they had large parties, and when it was quieter. Service is ALWAYS exceptional and never lacked.
A simple plate with water/soda should run you under 20-ish depending on tip. Typically will get two margs and a plate, and that usually is around 20-30. I feel it’s very affordable while I’ve never felt like I’ve been left disappointed or hungry.
I simply cannot recommend this place enough.
I ordered gorditas but was very disappointed by the appearance. It was obvious the gorditas were pan fryed and had black burn marks on them. Perhaps reheated after prepared earlier in the day. My food has to be appealing first, then delicious. I should have taken photos or sent them back or just walked away. But maybe, just maybe, this is their norm. Authentically their version and presentation. I will not give them a second chance.
