Great bar for 90s or earlier country. A nice reprieve for the more chill crowd who may not be interested in the younger groups’ loud energy throughout Broadway.
I arrived between 7-8pm on a Friday and there were a few seats open at the bar and maybe a few tables in the back. By the time I left around 9:45pm, it was standing room only – but still not too crowded.
$15 for a shot of tequila.

Omg RIZZI is the best KJ there ever has been! She works the crowd and her voice is something out of this world! So ANGELIC! ❤️❤️ I just love her so much and mondays and fridays are my FAVORITE nights to be here!!! ❤️❤️❤️ soooo funn wether there is 100 ppl or 3 it’s always the same when she is Kj for the night! please don’t ever get rid of her….. This is a super fun place! Drinks are cheaper than anywhere on the strip. They have great music. Time in-between bands is very short. Small place but don’t need big and fancy to have fun. 3 stories but laid back. The rooftop offers great views of the street. Every floor is a good time getting to the roof. The bands this particular night were great! The Big Bass player in first band was Awesome! Second band Francelle, The guitar player sounded just like Alan Jackson! Clean place , friendly staff, bartenders are great and quick. Nice dance floor .

Aj’s is my favorite bar of the night! Having come straight to AJ’s from Friends in Low Places….. there was a night & Day difference. AJ’s bad was much more lively & interactive with the audience.
Our waitress Ivana, was very attentive and greeted us as soon as we sat down at the bar. She gave us plenty of time to decide what we’d like to drink. I decided on an apple pie shot and my husband got the Chattahoochie lemonade. His drink was a full size drink and soooooo much better than the apple pie shot! The aftertaste of the shot was horrible.
I wandered upstairs to find the restroom and came upon the karaoke bar. There was literally 3-4 patrons in there and the bar tender. It was definitely NOT happening for the karaoke lovers that night.
FYI: because this is t posted anywhere and no warning given —-> watch your receipt! It was too late for me!
I noticed after the fact a 4% non-cash adjustment (cc fee!) as well as 10.25% sales tax (DAMN!) and a 15% liquor tax! Explain to me why each bar all on Broadway have these different bullshit fees?
Needless to say — we still had a great time with the band in the main floor!

It is a pleasure to take the time to write about my most humble experience at AJ’s Good Time Bar in Nashville, Tennessee. I want to bring the spotlight to Chris, a humble, caring, and attention to detail when it comes to customer service and delicious drinks being made promptly.
As a group of six walking up to the 3rd floor, we were greeted by Chris who immediately introduced himself, welcomed us to the bar, and most importantly, sanitized the area where we were seated. It was very busy and Chris was no stranger to a crowd but still managed to ensure everyone had their drinks made and continuously asked us if we wanted another refill. His recommendations on some of the drinks got us out of the “usual” drink order which was nice to taste other drinks that we have not had before. Although Chris was busy with other customers, he still took the time to know us on a personal level and have a connection. Even other regulars talked highly about him (mind you, this was our first interaction with him). This is how you treat your customers because the end goal is satisfaction, ensuring the customer is comfortable, and have a higher chance of customers returning which is what we did for the next two days.
Every time we visit Broadway, we have many choices to choose from but moving forward, I will still continue to choose AJ’s Good Time Bar as my preferred bar in Nashville. Chris would make a greater leader and trainer for new bartenders joining the team.

The staff here is absolutely amazing, always friendly, welcoming, and on top of everything to make sure you’re having the best experience possible. The food is delicious and goes perfectly with the fun, laid-back vibe of the place.
What really sets this bar apart is the atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot to socialize, enjoy live classic country music, and meet great people. Pretty cool spot to catch live music and/or sing karaoke. If you want to catch the stage within a reasonable amount of time then you better drop a 20$ in the karaoke guys bucket. Drinks are hella expensive as well but that’s to be expected on Broadway ♂️

We make it a point to go to AJ’s every time we are in Nashville. They have quality entertainers/artists and the service is 10/10, especially Chris Vick the bartender. He made the best drinks in Nashville and is as genuine as they come! Highly recommend!
