We walked in to a pretty lively atmosphere and were seated up stairs. Our waitress Emily was very helpful with her knowledge of the menu. We started with the Bayside Nachos; it was a new and welcoming take on a traditional appetizer, we really loved the variety of seafood and flavors. The cheesesteak was delicious and juicy; but, could have been a tad bit more heartier (more meat to bread ratio). There were not many were many vegetable side options and we were unaware that substituting the French fries with green beans would result in a $1 up-charge; however, the green beans were tasty.
The AJ’s smash burger delivered and as recommended by Emily to get it with everything that was offered with it “candied bacon , mushrooms , and caramelized onions , & AJ’s sauce ✅ was the right way to go.
Started with Fried Pickels. Very generous portion for two. Tasted great. Awesome dipping sauce. (I’d serve it over a paper towel or something to absorb the deep-fry oil.)
Cocktails here are OK sized, well-crafted overall. My Manhattan was a slightly-light poor but wife’s Martini was just right.
I had the seared Tuna special, which was served with fresh green beans and a risotto. Generous portion. Really excellent but a little on the rich side.
Wife’s Wedge salad was fine. Chicken was a little rubbery. A lot of dressing (ask for it on the side maybe). What made it was the pickled onions and candied bacon.
Wine pours were generous and whatever their rail Chardonnay was went down great.
We’ve been here before and it’s now a Cape Charles go-to when visiting.
I had an unforgettable dining experience that I just have to share. The risotto was absolutely divine—so creamy and rich that it brought tears of joy to my eyes. Each spoonful was a luxurious burst of flavor, perfectly cooked and decadently smooth. The Reuben on marble rye bread was equally outstanding; every bite was a harmonious blend of savory meats, tangy sauerkraut, and melty Swiss cheese nestled between crisp, flavorful bread. It was so delicious that I can’t wait to return and indulge again.
The sweet potatoes stole the show. They were truly to die for! Their natural sweetness was perfectly balanced with a hint of seasoning, making them irresistibly tasty. And the pasta! Each strand seemed to release a new tone of flavor with every bite, transforming a simple dish into a symphony of tastes.
Sorry. I could only share half my sandwich and some fries with you guys. Go and taste for yourself !!!!!!
Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit for any foodie. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
We didn’t eat anything only had beer. But, the service was incredible and everyone was accommodating. We will definitely come back for a meal sometime.
The food and drinks were excellent. My husband ordered the burger and I had the salad special. Both dishes were wonderful. I recommend this restaurant for its delicious meals, friendly staff and lovely ambiance.
Raw oysters: So fresh, shucked fresh and very meaty and $1 an oyster at certain times!
Non-menu salad: Apples, blue cheese, bacon, and an AMAZING pomegranate vinaigrette! It was bold and different I’m hoping they add it permanently, but if not I’m glad I went for it!
Great place, couldn’t ask for better service and the drinks were strong and tasty! Bathrooms are well kept and very clean single use rooms.
