We used to come here when it was the Budai chinese restaurant, so it was interesting to see the changes made to be Aji Ramen – the interior has been transformed into a beautiful modern Japanese-esque aesthetic- with tiled floors, soft lighting in the open floorplan style with the sushi bar in the corner. The food came out super fast. We came wanting to try the ramen – husband tried the cheesy katsu ramen – the broth was good, he said the katsu held up in crispness. I tried the spicy tonkatsu ramen – now usually I don’t drink the broth/finish the whole bowl of ramen anywhere – but I was slurping that bad boy up! The noodles were great, the broth was amazing. I am super excited to come back and try the black garlic tonkatsu ramen
We also tried the Lobster Tempura Sushi – which makes us want to come back and get a sushi boat – it was glorious. I actually liked the cut of the sushi – thin but huge pieces. Very nice.

Food was great! I especially loved the chicken mushroom ramen. Yaki udon was amazing, dumplings were good. All around good stuff. Only complaint would be the sushi rolls could be larger. Definitely recommend though. We will be back!

We tried out Aji when they opened. It did not disappoint. I got the Black Garlic Ramen. The broth was very tasty and flavorful. The noodles were substantial and had a great bounce and texture to them. The chashu pork was almost all meat and was seared giving it extra dimension to the flavor. The fish cakes were thick and you could actually taste them, very nice. The bamboo was soft and perfectly chewable, not tough and stringing like I’ve had before. I did ask for and added some chili oil to mine and their oil is very good. We only tried the ramen, but saw some of the other patrons ordered some very fresh looking and beautiful sushi. I will say this ramen made me full like no other I’ve had. I usually get an appetizer when I go to other places, but for me, none was needed here. The staff were very nice and stayed on top of our drink refills without over hovering. We will definitely be back between here and our other favorite ramen spot.

I solo dined here this evening, it’s fairly new and close to my house. I had the Black Garlic Tonkatsu Ramen. Portions were sizable, flavors were on point, and they got my food out pretty quick for as busy as they were. I’ll definitely be back again. Also their sushi was pretty fresh. Definitely recommend the unagi!

Food was really good, we got the black chicken, spicy Tonkatsu ramen with extra egg and chicken Yaki udon. Presentation was nice and the wait staff very polite. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming although we did feel a little pushed towards the end me our meal. The main down side for me however was the fact that all the hot food, including the ramen soup was served in plastic dishes. The dishes had a plastic design wrap that featured the restaurant’s name and logo on top of what I assume was melamine. I would have preferred a classic porcelain or stoneware dishes. This will definitely play in my decision to eat here again, which is unfortunate, because I really liked everything else here as I stated earlier. I hope the owner decides to make the change at least for the soups down the road as they become profitable.

Hubby and I decided to try this place out since its right by our apartment. We went in with zero expectations. We got the edemame and shrimp tempura appetizer. The edemame was salted perfectly and wonderfully tender. The breading on the tempura was SO GOOD! Like a finely ground panko, and fried perfectly. For the entrees I got the curry ramen and he got the chicken teriyaki. The curry was absolutely to die for, the beef was tender, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the flavor was absolutely top tier. The teriyaki chicken came out sizzling, and the sauce was amazing! The veggies were sautéed perfectly, and were just the right amount of savory. The staff was super friendly, and the restaurant itself was very clean and not overwhelming. Will definitely be returning often.

Best ramen place in Albuquerque!!! And very good sushi too. Have literally never had anything that is not good from this place. Been here like 6 times since it opened a couple months ago. The green tea comes in a cute cup and pot too. And the service is fire.

Walked in on Valentine’s day today, and it was great! Good service and food was excellent. Ordered Philly roll, salmon roll, rainbow, eel, dragon. All excellent and priced right. About 6:30p a line started forming out the door, but they are very fast. Highly recommend. Miso ramen also excellent!
