From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by Chef JP, who was incredibly kind, warm, and friendly. The food looked amazing—fresh, hot, and full of flavor—and I couldn’t wait to try it. He even let me sample a few items, which I truly appreciated since I’m very particular about what I eat.
I’ve been pescatarian for almost 10 years, but this year I added chicken back into my diet after becoming a new mother and breastfeeding. My nutritionist and lactation nurse recommended more protein, so I made the change. The fact that this place offers both fish and chicken options is a huge plus. They even have turkey wings, which I’ve never tried before but am definitely planning to try next.
I was blown away by the portion sizes, the value, and most importantly, the freshness and taste of the food. Everything was incredible. I literally sat there thinking, This is my new go-to spot. I’m a great cook myself, but finding food this good—especially in a new area—is rare.
This place is truly a hidden gem, and more people need to know about it. I told Chef JP I would leave a review, and here it is. He deserves a 10-star rating, but since Google only allows five, just know that everything was a 10 out of 10. Highly recommend.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I recently tried this restaurant, and every dish I ordered delivered serious comfort-food satisfaction.
Collard Greens:
Perfectly seasoned and slow-simmered, the collard greens had that rich, smoky flavor you can only get from a long cook and the right touch of seasoning. Tender without being mushy, and full of depth—easily some of the best I’ve had.
Cabbage:
The cabbage was cooked just right: soft but still holding a little bite. It had a savory seasoning blend that made it flavorful without overpowering its natural sweetness. A simple dish done really well.
Ribs:
The ribs were tender with a smoky, charred flavor that shows they take their barbecue seriously. well-seasoned, and carrying that perfect glaze that balances sweet and savory. A must-order.
Turkey Wings:
The turkey wings were the star of the meal—huge, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor. The seasoning soaked through every bite, and the meat practically melted off the bone. Comfort food at its best.
Overall:
This restaurant nails classic soul food with standout flavors, generous portions, and love in every bite. If you’re craving hearty, home-style cooking, this place is for you.
