Great spot! Visited during detroit take over d.c. weekend and this was one of the lisited spots and it was great! We visited twice! Day and night! The music was right! The dj was on point (but outta order, lol) Ellen was our bartender and we got her again when we returned later. She treated us swell! We ordered food and it was delicious! The burger! The fries! The wings! When back in the area, I will definitely return.

I would not recommend Air Restaurant & Lounge.
I’m not sure if it was due to new staff, but Air is not the same. Please be aware that the advertised “$55 unlimited brunch & mimosas” is very misleading. Your total will come out to about $76 per person because gratuity is automatically included, and you are required to prepay. If you’re dissatisfied, they will not issue a refund. The gratuity is charged regardless of your party size BTW.
As for the “unlimited” brunch — expect to receive one plate of cold food and one round of mimosas during your 90-minute seating unless you personally track down your server for more.
Our server, Leslie, informed us that we needed to find her and ask for additional rounds of food. Just want to note that every time I’ve been to Air the server would come back to check in to see if we needed anything .. however, if this is a new policy she never initially explained that process, nor did she check in with our table to see if we needed anything. She was also working the bar that day, meaning we would’ve had to physically get up and go to the bar every time someone at our table wanted more food or drinks.
After addressing the issue with her and getting nowhere (she essentially implied it was our fault we didn’t “experience” the unlimited brunch), I requested to speak with a manager. He stated they do not provide refunds but offered Don Julio shots and a to-go plate as a solution.
I’ve been to most brunch spots in DC and have never experienced anything like this — especially after being charged automatic gratuity.
If you go to Air, the only thing you’ll likely enjoy is the music. I would not recommend this venue for any celebration

My friends and I decided to visit Air for Sunday Brunch. It was an interesting experience. Upon my arrival to the restaurant I was met with a line of people waiting to get inside as we were required to show ID and be waived down with a wand to ensure no weapons were brought (I can’t even complain- safety first!!) but it did catch me off guard. Once we got through security and were seated our waiter introduced her self and brought us menus and explained how the brunch worked. We were advised that the mimosas were included and it was all you could eat bit you had to pay for the meal upfront. This was a bit unusual and caught me off guard as well (but hey – we went with the flow). I write this in my review to just give others the heads up that this is the expectation. Other than those two things the vibe was cool, the music was a little loud so it was hard to converse , but it was a great fusion of old and new hip hop and R&B. The food was also really good! The wait staff was respectful and professional. Oh- one more thing to be prepared for- the restroom setup is a bit different so be prepared!! It’s unisex with both men and women going into the same area but the stalls are private. Overall. We enjoyed our selves and the food.

My friend and I went for brunch on Saturday. At first the host was going to seat us in a back corner but seeing my facial expression she moved us upstairs with a better view. Be aware you have to pay before eating which is why service started off slow for us. The omelet and waffle station was fast and good. The main entree was ok. You only get one piece of each chicken and the string beans was kind of bland. The salmon was not blackened and small. We never got our beignets or chicken sausage which was suppose to come with the meal but the mimosa filled us up. Unlike other establishments they never rushed us out after our 1.5 hr reservation was completed. The DJs was the best thing for this okace. Although the crowd was a little dry, the DJ had the best mix of old and new school music which I enjoyed. We stayed for hours because of the music. Overall this place is a 3.5 due to lack or service and food. Will try this place again.

Oh my goodness I had a really nice time. I got such good customer service from a young lady with a beautiful smile and wonderful manners named Kiki. – Mikya – The band was great. The food was great. I really enjoyed myself. Thanks for having a good atmosphere and a great employee because she was very good to us.

Great service! We walked in thinking we had a reservation here but realized the reservation was for a different day. We were still seated immediately. As soon as we walked in the music was rocking. ( Old school hip hop and r&b ) We were seated up top which was nice because we overlooked the dance floor and the other tables. We ordered a bottle and it was out within 10 minutes and the place was crowded. Another 15 minutes and our food was out. Perfect timing. Shrimp and grits was delicious and so was the salmon. You have to prepay for bottles and hookah ( which is smart ) . Music and atmosphere was 100% And so was the food and service. We were back two days later for New Years Eve…. Which was a little disappointing because they didn’t have their regular menu and I’m pescatarian. I still enjoyed myself. Overall great experience!

My friend Carmen celebrated her B-Day celebration at The Air Lounge in Washington DC this past Saturday afternoon. The place is really fun and the DJ is great and very interactive with the guests. The host/manager was excellent and professional. I did not get her name but she was African American & wore glasses. The servers were spread a little thin upstairs but they did their very best to keep up with the volume of guests on the upper level where we were seated. Our server Selena (sp?) was really really nice and checked on us often to make sure we were good. Mind you there were about twenty of us for her to tend to. The bartender upstairs was sweet and kept a lively smile on her face throughout the organized chaos. Her name was Leslie from what I remembered. The food was pretty good that was served on the first round. It was a single sized platter of steak, Mac and cheese, salmon, sausage, bacon, fried chicken & potatoes. I was not sure if I was able to get another plate or not and was too lazy to go down to the omelette and waffle station downstairs but I was satisfied nonetheless. My friend’s omelettes and waffles looked really good from what I saw. Four of us stuck around a little longer to finish our drinks and left happy overall with a couple of photos that we purchased in frames that their photographer took during our visit. We had a blast and will come back. One great thing about the bottomless brunch payment process is that they take it in the beginning and add the automatic gratuity (total of $72.00) per person which makes things easier for them and the guests. The severs should really get their props handling as many tables as they had while keeping it altogether. Cheers!!!!

When gist arriving we did not get seating right away, which was understandable since I had my some of my party go in prior to me so I could park. Once I arrived the host told us to go upstairs that’s where we will be seated, once upstairs I assumed we would be greeted by another host donating but that wasn’t the case I had to go back downstairs to see who was going to seat us, she came up and sat us at a table the was free that another server was sitting at eating and they just had her move no cleaning of the table or nothing. Once seating she left but we were not given menus or nobody came to greet so after about 15 months of sitting looking like sitting ducks I went back downstairs to see who was supposed to be our server and can we at minimum get menus. She gave me menus that I dispersed to my party and maybe another 15-20 min a serve came over who looked flushed and overwhelmed. Order went in good took 1 hour to come out which wasn’t hot lamb chops were undercooked, and we all order mash potatoes with the $40 meal deal and got Mac and cheese in which she said after she brought out they didn’t have any ready after already and hour of waiting. The food was flavorless, the mac and cheese dry and could tell scrapped from the bottom of the pan. My other person in my party fries were soaked in grease he couldn’t eat. Then she randomly brought us out mash potatoes way after the meal said they had to make them. Overall we spent $500 for a $40 1 course meal deal that shohldve came with 3 parts, and drinks are ridiculously priced. They need to get organized, I do not think they are prepared enough for brunch and late night menu options. Honestly I need my money back.
