Since the restaurant is very new, the service was not quite what I expected. The servers seemed a bit lost and unsure about what they were doing, so I believe they may need more training. We had to ask for the bill several times, and there were also some missing items from our order that we had to remind them about.
As for the food, it was average, with average portion sizes as well. The prices are fair and reasonable, so I have no complaints there.
Overall, the restaurant has great potential because of its wonderful ambiance and cultural touch. With some improvements in service and staff training, it could become a great place to dine.
Loved their Nanglo set. Fish Fry (taareko maacha) & Malekhu maacha is to die for. I still need to try more from their menu. Will definitely visit again. Top notch Service, very friendly staff. Live music on weekend really hyped the ambience.
The spices taste hand-picked, curated, and crafted right there. Nothing feels generic. Every dish has depth and authenticity; the kind you can’t fake. The food is honestly mind-blowing. It’s the type of place where you keep eating even after you’re full because it’s just that good.
The owners have added touches from back home in every nook and corner. It almost gives a museum vibe; cultural, intentional, beautiful; but with food and drinks you can’t get enough of.
And the drinks? Authentic aila, plus customized Nepali cocktails and mocktails that you won’t find anywhere else in Dallas. The traditional live instruments and music brought everything together perfectly. It didn’t just feel like dinner; it felt like an experience.
If you miss Nepal or just want to experience it for the first time, this place is a must.
The place has a warm, traditional Nepali vibe, and the service was very friendly.
Definitely recommend visiting. Wishing them great success!
The Samaya Baji was a bit disappointing though. The mula ko achar tasted sweet, while it’s usually more amilo, nunilo, and piro. The chuira felt more like furandana, which didn’t feel very authentic for a Newari Samaya Baji. Also noticed the fried garlic and ginger topping on bhatmas was missing, and the saag seemed like a mix of rayo and tori. For the price, having aloo tama bodi on the side would make it feel more complete. I really liked the two different seating areas, regular dining space and another lounge area with a live band, which creates a nice vibe. Since it’s newly opened, there’s definitely room for improvement and I hope to see it get even better.
