My favorite was the scallop roll. It had a delicious hint of citrus; good creamy texture with a perfect finish of seaweed. The oysters were also great. The quality of the fish was perfect, and we appreciated the creativity that went into each dish. We sat at the bar and got to see them pick fresh herbs to use as garnish in the rolls. We didn’t try the omakaze because I wanted to try a little of everything off the menu.
The mocktails were ok. I was looking for something like a sweet mixture with pineapple juice. But otherwise, it wasn’t bad. Great restaurant, would come again.
Upon entering, we were seated promptly for our reservation. The place is on the smaller side, intimate, but because of the table arrangements, you’ll be close to other diners. It can get loud, but it was never an issue communicating. In all honesty, it was extremely difficult to hear what the waitress was saying and not so much my SO.
The Food: A+ and outstanding. It was our first time, so we opted for Omakase since it had a nice variety; it did not disappoint! The freshness of the fish was spectacular. The way they pair their fish with different garnish, spices, sauces, etc really complimented the fish. I can truly say not a single bite was underwhelming. We chose to order additional rounds of our favorite pieces, and again, exceptional and consistent. Drinks were fabulous (large selection of Japanese Whiskey!). The dessert at the end…I’ll be lying to you if I told you what the hell I was eating, but it was out of this world delicious. I’m not a “sweet” guy; this dessert was tart and fresh and just amazing.
I highly recommend this place; it’s an absolute no brainer for those who love high quality sushi with a nice ambiance and location!
Our server, Vika D,made the experience even better. She was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable about the menu, and her service was outstanding from start to finish.
If you’re looking for fresh, high-quality sushi paired with great service, Aiko is the place to go. Highly recommend!

– Mochi 0/5 I didn’t like it the skin was so bad I had to spit it out. It tastes like the store brought mochi. Was really looking forward to it but got disappointed.
Spicy Tuna Maki HH (6) $14 5/5 Not bad! The fried onion topping was a great addition!
Negitoro Maki (6) 5/5 Fatty Tuna with Caviar
Kani Maki 5/5 I’m a crab lover and I always order this 🙂
The fish quality was fresh and the nigiri lineup looked beautiful, but the overall flavor profile leaned a little too sweet or too salty for my palate. Instead of balancing each other out, some dishes felt like they were fighting each other. The sauces and seasonings didn’t blend as seamlessly as other omakase spots in Houston.
The menu itself was creative, and I appreciated the mix of cold dishes, hand rolls, nigiri flights, and a refreshing dessert at the end. But in terms of flavor execution compared to other high-end omakase places in the city, it just wasn’t on the same level for me.
Aesthetically, everything was gorgeous just not as memorable taste-wise as I hoped, especially considering the price.
